This method allows obtaining stable back sheets with long lifetime even under extreme weather conditions. Moreover, the method of the present invention is inexpensive and solvent free. The method of the present invention is based on the concept of pre-treating the surface of an internal layer of the back sheet by chemical etching followed by deposition, on at least one treated surface, of an aqueous dispersion of self cross linkable materials and by subsequent reticulation of said dispersion on the pre-treated surface.
