Method of producing a coated paperboard or linerboard is provided. The method comprises the steps of: - providing a paperboard or linerboard substrate; - coating the paperboard or linerboard substrate with a coating composition comprising binder and pigment to obtain a coated paperboard or a coated linerboard having a coated surface; - infrared (IR) drying of the coated paperboard or the coated linerboard to obtain a pre-dried coated paperboard or a pre-dried coated linerboard, wherein the temperature of the coated surface reaches a maximum of 62-68 °C in the IR drying step; and - air drying of the pre-dried coated paperboard or the pre-dried coated linerboard to obtain a dried coated paperboard or a dried coated linerboard.
There is provided a method for producing a high-density paper comprising the steps of: a) providing or producing a paper substrate; b) coating the paper substrate with an aqueous coating composition using a blade coater to obtain a coated paper; c) drying the coated paper to obtain a dried coated paper; and d) supercalendering the dried coated paper at a moisture content of 4-9 %, such as 4- 8 %; wherein the dry weight of the aqueous coating composition is 7-20 wt. %.

There is provided a method of producing a multi-layered liquid packaging board (LPB) comprising a print layer, a back layer and a middle layer, said method comprising the steps of: - providing a maple chemithermomechanical pulp (CTMP) and forming a middle layer furnish comprising the maple CTMP, broke pulp and hydrophobic size; - forming a middle layer web from the middle layer furnish in a forming section of a full-scale paperboard machine; - forming a print layer web from a print layer furnish in the forming section, which print layer furnish comprises hydrophobic size; - forming a back layer web from a back layer furnish in the forming section, which back layer furnish comprises hydrophobic size; and - form a multi-layered LPB from the print layer web, middle layer web and back layer web so that the middle layer is arranged between the print layer and the back layer.
The present disclosure relates to a process for manufacturing a purified fiber material from Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) for use in preparing packaging board, the process comprising the steps of; - providing OCC; - repulping the OCC into a fiber slurry; - subjecting the fiber slurry to a first screening step; - subjecting the screened fiber material to a first flotation step; - washing the fiber material subjected to the first flotation step; - subjecting the washed fiber material to a steam heating step, wherein the heated steam having a temperature of 100°C or more, thereby providing a purified fiber material.

The present disclosure provides a stretchable paper comprising at least 90% by dry weight of kraft pulp fibres, wherein the stretchability according to ISO 1924-3:2011 of the paper is at least 8.0 % in the machine direction (MD) and the cross direction (CD) and wherein the paper comprises 5-10 kg/tonne of cationic starch based on dry weight of the paper, 0.25-1.00 kg/tonne of AKD or ASA based on dry weight of the paper, 1.00-3.00 kg/tonne of rosin size based on dry weight of the paper and 0.5-5.0 kg/tonne of glyoxylated polyacrylamide (G-PAM) based on dry weight of the paper.

The present disclosure provides a rolled paper tube and a use thereof for forming a pillow bag. There is also provided a method of forming a pillow bag containing a product, comprising the steps of: unwinding a paper tube from a roll; cutting and cross-sealing the paper tube to form a bag having a sealed end portion and a non- sealed end portion; filling the bag with the product to obtain a filled bag; and cross-sealing the non-sealed end portion of the filled bag such that the pillow bag containing the product is formed. The present disclosure relates to a method for producing chemithermomechanical pulp, CTMP, comprising: a) providing wood chips comprising hardwood, softwood or a mixture thereof; b) impregnating the wood chips with an impregnation liquid to obtain impregnated chips; c) heating the impregnated chips with steam to obtain pre-treated chips; d) defibrating the pre-treated chips to obtain a pulp; e) diluting the pulp in a pulper, wherein the residence time in the pulper is less than 15 min; and f) dewatering the diluted pulp.
There is provided a method of forming a high temperature chemithermomechanical pulp (HT-CTMP) comprising the steps of: a) mixing hardwood chips and softwood chips to obtain a mixture, wherein the dry weight ratio of hardwood to softwood in said mixture is between 85:15 and 65:35; b) impregnating the chips of the mixture with an impregnation liquid comprising sulfite and optionally NaOH to obtain impregnated chips; c) applying steam having a temperature of at least 150°C to the impregnated chips to obtain pretreated chips; and d) defibrating the pretreated chips, wherein the mass flow of sulfite (calculated as Na2SO3) to step b) is higher than the mass flow of NaOH to step b) and the residence time in step c) is no more than two minutes.
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing chemithermomechanical pulp, CTMP, comprising: a) providing wood chips comprising softwood, hardwood or a mixture thereof; b) storing the chips at a temperature of 45-75 ˚C for at least 24 h in an aerobic environment to obtain matured chips; c) impregnating the matured chips with an impregnation liquid to obtain impregnated chips; d) transferring the impregnated chips to a heating zone; e) heating the impregnated chips in the heating zone with steam to obtain pre- treated chips; f) defibrating the pre-treated chips to obtain a pulp; and g) dewatering the pulp.
There is provided a method of preparing chemithermomechanical CTMP from maple wood, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing maple wood chips having an average length below 20 mm, such as below 19 mm; b) washing the maple wood chips with water; c) steaming the washed maple wood chips for a period of at least 15 minutes to obtain pre-steamed chips; d) impregnating the pre-steamed chips to obtain impregnated chips; e) heating the impregnated chips to obtain pre-treated chips; and f) defibration of the pre-treated chips.

There is provided a high temperature chemithermomechanical pulp (HT-CTMP) formed from a mixture of maple wood and softwood, wherein the dry weight ratio of maple wood to softwood in said mixture is between 92:8 and 50:50. A method of producing HT-CTMP is also provided.
