Abstract

A printing system includes a printing device having a raster image processing (RIP) system. The printing device includes a controller to implement the RIP system. A manager of the RIP system configures RIP instances to process different levels of page complexity of a job. The RIP system evaluates the pages in the job to determine one or more pages that are complex. An optimization operation is selected to apply to a complex page to optimize the page to reduce rendering time in the RIP system. If the optimization operation is not effective, then the RIP system launches a configured RIP to render the complex page. A neural network model is trained to select the optimization operation.

Abstract

A sheet detecting device detects each sheet fed by a feeding process at a detection position on a downstream side of a feeding rotating body in a sheet feeding direction. A timing device measures an elapsed time from a time when the feeding process for each sheet is started to a time when each sheet is detected by the sheet detecting device. A processing device derives a target feeding time required for a target sheet to be fed from an initial reference position to the detection position based on a target measurement time measured by the timing device for the target sheet fed by the feeding process. The processing device counts a delay count that is a number of times the target feeding time exceeds a delay determination time. The processing device determines a deterioration state of a feeding mechanism based on the delay count.

The acquisition portion acquires a pulse signal for an instruction about acceleration and deceleration operations on a motor. The setting portion sets a stop frequency for the motor on the basis of a frequency of the pulse signal at time of an acceleration operation on the motor. The stop frequency corresponds to a stop timing of the pulse signal. The control portion executes a stop process of stopping the motor using short-circuit braking in a case where a frequency of the pulse signal at time of a deceleration operation on the motor reaches the stop frequency.

Abstract

A motor control system includes a first acquisition portion, a calculation portion, and a control portion. The first acquisition portion acquires a pulse that is output from a detection portion which detects rotational speed of a motor. The motor rotates a conveyor (screw) that conveys toner to be removed. The calculation portion calculates rotation speed of the motor in a specific period longer than a period of the pulse on the basis of the acquired pulse. The control portion controls the motor on the basis of the rotation speed calculated by the calculation portion such that the rotation speed of the motor is constant.

Abstract

This carbon dioxide emission estimation system obtains an estimated emission value by using a carbon dioxide emission estimation model, the estimated emission value serving as an estimated value of carbon dioxide emissions from an image forming device, and the carbon dioxide emission estimation model being a mathematical expression for estimating emissions (S182). The carbon dioxide emission estimation model is used to obtain an estimated emission value by using an estimated consumption value obtained by indexing an estimated logarithmic consumption value obtained according to a multiple regression equation in which the estimated logarithmic consumption value is used as an objective variable, the estimated logarithmic consumption value serving as a value obtained through logarithmic conversion of an estimated consumption value serving as an estimated value of electric power consumption by the image forming device. With the multiple regression equation, at least some explanatory variables are subjected to logarithmic conversion.

Abstract

Systems and methods relate generally to printing. In a method, a job manager of a printing device DFE receives a print job. An exchange job definition formatted client (“client”) subscribes to receive associated signal information. The job manager provides the print job to a printer engine of the DFE. An exchange job definition message (“message”) associated with the print job is queued in a message queue of the DFE. The message queue and a signal queue are monitored by a task monitor of the DFE. The message is passed from the message queue to a task processor of the DFE. The message is processed responsive to content thereof by the task processor. A subscription for the client is received via the task processor by a subscription manager of the DFE. A combined message is created by the subscription manager using the subscription and an associated address for the client.

Abstract

A controller controls a first lifting device and thereby changes a height position of the feeding tray, and controls a second lifting device and thereby changes a height position of an ejection port correspondingly to a sheet amount on an output tray. If an output lift upperlimit sensor detects that the ejection port reaches an upperlimit height position, the controller temporarily stops document sheet transportation. When the controller tries to lift the ejection port to a height position corresponding to the sheet amount, if a height position of the ejection port does not become the height position corresponding to the sheet amount and the output lift upperlimit sensor does not detect that the ejection port reaches the upperlimit height position even though the second lifting device operates for predetermined time, then the controller temporarily stops document sheet transportation until document sheets on the output tray are removed.

Abstract

A processing unit performs a postprocess for a sheet bunch on a processing tray. In a waiting transportation path, a subsequent sheet can wait while the postprocess is performed for the sheet bunch. If sheet transportation is suspended, a controller determines whether concurrent transportation is performed or not on the basis of whether there is the sheet bunch on the processing tray and whether there is the subsequent sheet in the waiting transportation path. In the concurrent transportation, when the sheet bunch is outputted through an ejection port, the controller transports the subsequent sheet to an output roller and causes the subsequent sheet to protrude from the ejection port such that the subsequent sheet partially overlaps the sheet bunch, and after a rear end of the sheet bunch passes through the ejection port, the controller reverses the output roller and transports the subsequent sheet to the processing tray.
