Abstract

The invention relates to a method for applying a joint (2, 102) onto a plate (3), in particular a plate having shape defects. An edge of interest is defined on a portion of the plate (3) onto which the joint (2, 102) is intended to be applied. The plate (3) is then placed on a tool (4, 104) comprising a supporting element (5, 105) made of solid material and a supporting element (6, 106) made of flexible material, in such a way that the edge of interest rests on a portion of the supporting element made of flexible material. While the joint is applied onto the edge of interest, the plate is maintained in a predetermined reference position and the element made of flexible material is pushed against the plate, perpendicularly to an outer surface of the element made of flexible material, the outer surface being opposite to the surface on which the edge of interest rests.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for applying a seal (2, 102) to a plate (3), in particular to a plate having an imperfect shape. An edge of interest is defined on one portion of the plate (3) on which the seal (2, 102) is to be applied. The plate (3) is then placed on a tool (4, 104) including a supporting element made of solid material (5, 105) and a supporting element made of flexible material (6, 106), such that the edge of interest rests on a portion of the supporting element made of flexible material. During the application of the seal to the edge of interest, the plate is kept in a predetermined reference position and the element made of flexible material is pushed against the plate, perpendicular to an external surface of the element made of flexible material, the external surface being opposite the surface on which the edge of interest rests.

Abstract

Method for applying a joint to a plate comprising planning a tool comprising a solid support element comprising a recess and a flexible support element comprising a first and a second face, delineating an edge of interest on the plate, placing the plate on the tool so that the edge of interest rests on said first face, keeping the plate on the tool in a predetermined reference position, applying said joint on the edge of interest, removing the plate from the tool, providing the means for exerting 10 pressure in a compensation chamber in said recess and applying pressure during the application of the joint and perpendicular to said second face in such a way that the flexible element is pushed against the plate, in which the joint is produced by applying a curable composition by means of an application located along the edge of interest.
