Abstract
The invention relates to an object comprising a substrate (2) and a scale (3) which is applied onto the substrate (2) using a printing medium which has magnetizable and/or magnetic particles and which has regions that have the printing medium and regions (5) that are free of the printing medium. The scale is designed to indicate positions by means of the regions which have the printing medium and the regions (5) which are free of the printing medium. The magnetic properties of the substrate (2) are such that when an external magnetic field is applied to the object (1) or when the magnetic field of the magnetic particles from the printing medium is read, a stronger magnetic field is generated than that of the substrate (2).

Abstract
The invention relates to a measuring device (1) for measuring the position of a first body (2) in relation to a second body (3), which measuring device (1) comprises a scale strip (4), which can be fastened to the first body (2) and has a marking, and two marking detection sensors (5, 6), which can be fastened to the second body (3), wherein the marking is formed by a pattern of marking strips (7), each transition (8) of which marking strips between a first position (9) of the scale strip (4) and a second position (10) is arranged inclined at a respective inclination angle (13) in such a way that each of the inclination angles (13) has a value that differs from the values of the other inclination angles, wherein the scale strip (4) is divided into a first track (17) and a second track (18), wherein one of the marking detection sensors (5) is arranged adjacent to the first track (17) and the other of the marking detection sensors (6) is arranged adjacent to the second track (18) and the marking detection sensors (5, 6) are arranged next to each other between the first position (9) and the second position (10) as viewed in the transversal direction (12) of the scale strip (4), such that the position of the body (2) in relation to the second body (3) can be determined within the first and the second position (9, 10) by detecting the inclination angles (13). According to a method, the position of the bodies (2, 3) is determined on the basis of detected inclination angles (13).
