Abstract
Processes for recovering iodine from solid materials in which copper is present are performed by combining the solid material with a basic solution having a pH greater than 10 to solubilize and remove iodine from the solid material, thereby forming an iodine recovery stream.

Abstract
Materials and methods for precious metal recovery are disclosed. An aqueous-based leaching solution is disclosed comprising an iodide salt material; an iodate salt material, a chlorite salt material, or any combination thereof; and phosphoric acid. Oxidant material can be, in some instances, generated in-situ. The leaching solution is typically contacted with a substrate having a target precious metal, thereby solubilizing precious metal to form a stable, pregnant solution. The precious metal can then be recovered from the pregnant solution. In some instances, components of the leaching solution can be regenerated and reused in subsequent leaching.
IPC Classes ?
- C22B 3/04 - Extraction of metal compounds from ores or concentrates by wet processes by leaching
- B01D 11/02 - Solvent extraction of solids
- C22B 3/06 - Extraction of metal compounds from ores or concentrates by wet processes by leaching in inorganic acid solutions
- C22B 3/20 - Treatment or purification of solutions, e.g. obtained by leaching
- C25B 1/22 - Inorganic acids
- C25B 1/24 - Halogens or compounds thereof
- C22B 11/00 - Obtaining noble metals

Abstract
Materials and methods for precious metal recovery are disclosed. Usable leaching solutions are preferably aqueous based and include appropriate materials in sufficient quantities to solubilize and stabilize precious metal. Such materials typically include oxidant material. Some or all of the oxidant material can be, in some instances, generated in-situ.
