The MAU may be moulded and provided with plug and play connections 4, 6 and modular wiring loom 8 which enables it to be connected to rebars and other similar MAUs to form an array of MAUs, which wiring loom 4, 6, 8 connects to a control unit for the distribution of power and control.

An ionic bond 2 is formed between the two layers. The AACM layer may comprise a reinforcement structure and cathodic protection.
