A low sulphur marine fuel composition comprising a heavy DAO hydrowax, wherein the heavy DAO hydrowax is produced from a process: (i) hydrocracking a deasphalted oil (DAO) and optionally up to 50% wt of flashed distillate, by weight of the fuel composition; (ii) separating from the hydrocracker effluent a fraction of which at least 80% by weight has a boiling point of 370°C or higher (the 370+ fraction); and (iii) separating the 370+ fraction into a top-fraction and a bottom-fraction at an effective cutpoint below 670°C, thus yielding the heavy DAO hydrowax as the bottom fraction, wherein the heavy DAO hydrowax has a sulphur content of less than 1000 ppmw. The heavy DAO Hydrowax contains very low levels of sulphur and therefore is a suitable blending component for ultra low sulphur marine fuel compositions.

Abstract
A gasoline fuel composition for a spark ignition internal combustion engine comprising (a) renewable naphtha at a level from 40 to 60% v/v, (b) oxygenated hydrocarbon at a level from 15% v/v to 25% v/v, and (c) aromatic hydrocarbon at a level from 25% v/v to 45% v/v, 5 wherein the gasoline fuel composition has a RON of 87 or greater. While the low octane number of renewable naphtha would normally severely restrict its blendability in gasoline to low levels, the fuel composition of the 10 present invention allows the use of renewable naphtha in significant levels while maintaining a good octane rating for the overall composition.

Abstract
A process for producing C10-C18 dialkyl cycloalkanes comprising: (i) subjecting a furfural compound, a furfuryl alcohol compound or a mixture of a furfural compound and a furfuryl alcohol compound to a reductive rearrangement reaction in the presence of water, hydrogen and hydrogenation catalyst comprising a supported transition metal to produce a reaction product comprising an active methylene group-containing cyclic ketone selected from cyclopentanone, substituted cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone or substituted cyclohexanone, and mixtures thereof; (ii) reacting the active methylene group-containing cyclic ketone obtained in step (i) with a furfural compound in an aldol condensation reaction in the presence of a catalyst to produce a reaction product comprising unsaturated C10-C18 oxygen-containing cyclic organic dimer and/or trimer compounds; (iii) subjecting the C10-C18 oxygen-containing cyclic organic dimer and/or trimer compounds produced in step (ii) to a hydrogenation reaction in the presence of hydrogen and a hydrogenation catalyst in order to produce saturated C10-C18 oxygen-containing cyclic organic dimer and/or trimer compounds; and (iv) subjecting the saturated C10-C18 oxygen-containing cyclic organic dimer and/or trimer compounds produced in step (iii) to a hydrodeoxygenation step in the presence of hydrogen and a hydrodeoxygenation catalyst to produce a hydrocarbon product comprising C10-C18 dialkyl cycloalkanes. The process of the present invention provides increased yields and reduced manufacturing costs. The C10-C18 dialkyl cycloalkanes produced by the process of the present invention can be used as a fuel component in sustainable aviation fuel.

Abstract
A material for thermal energy storage includes a salt encapsulated in a structural host material. The salt has a solid-liquid phase transition temperature in a range of between 400 °C and 900 °C. The structural host material consists for at least 90 % by mass of a hardened inorganic binder. The material can be made by providing a mixture of salt agglomerates in solid state and dry unreacted inorganic binder capable of reacting with a specified liquid. A paste containing the salt agglomerates is created by mixing in the specified liquid. The paste can be cast in a desired shape, after which the paste is allowed to harden by reacting with the specified fluid. The material can be used for storing thermal energy and heating a process stream with the stored thermal energy.

Abstract
Syngas is produced from hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. A steam methane reformer is configured to receive a hydrocarbon containing stream and steam, and to produce a first intermediate syngas stream from the hydrocarbon containing stream and the steam. At least a fraction of the hydrogen produced in the steam methane reformer is removed from the first intermediate syngas stream, and fed to a reverse water gas shift reactor in which carbon dioxide is reverse shifted to CO. The resulting CO-containing effluent stream is combined with a second intermediate syngas stream, which is a residue stream from the first intermediate syngas stream from which the fraction of hydrogen has been removed. Unconverted hydrogen which is discharged from the reverse water gas shift reactor, can be reintroduced in the second intermediate syngas stream together with the CO. The combined stream is a final syngas stream.

Implementations of the disclosed subject matter provide a method for operating a direct air capture (DAC) process. The method may include an array comprising a plurality of DAC units, each unit may include at least one side inlet face and an outlet. The array may have a shape that is not a single line formation and may have upwind and downwind sides dependent on a direction of a wind stream in the surrounding atmosphere. An air feed stream may be received at the inlet faces and may have an average CO2 concentration of at least 300 ppmv for all atmospheric conditions. A CO2 depleted outlet stream may be provided at the outlets and may have a flow generated by a device. Multiple recirculation zones may be generated by a subset of DAC units, and each zone may have an inner and outer sections, and a recirculation flow.

Abstract
The present invention provides a method of preparing a hydropyrolysis catalyst, said process comprising the steps of: i) forming a slurry comprising alpha alumina, an alumina precursor, a binder and water; ii) performing spray granulation of said slurry to prepare solid catalyst or carrier spheres; and iii) drying the catalyst or carrier spheres and then calcining them at a temperature in the range of at least 450 °C and no more than 900 °C, wherein active species comprising a molybdenum and a metal selected from those in groups 8, 9 and 10 of the periodic table are incorporated into the hydropyrolysis catalyst, either by incorporating a molybdenum source and a source of a metal selected from those in groups 8, 9 and 10 of the periodic table into the slurry in step i) or by impregnating the calcined carrier spheres with a solution comprising a molybdenum source and a source of a metal selected from those in groups 8, 9 and 10 of the periodic table and subsequently drying and then calcining at a temperature in the range of at least 450 °C and no more than 900 °C the thus-impregnated carrier spheres to provide the hydropyrolysis catalyst. The present invention also provides a biomass hydropyrolysis process with the obtained catalyst.

A fuel composition comprising: (i) at least 30 vol% of renewable gasoline component, wherein the renewable gasoline component has a RON of at least 80 and has been derived from an ethanol to gasoline process; and (ii) at least 5 vol% of a renewable alcohol component; and (iii) from 15 vol% to 50 vol% of petroleum-derived gasoline component; wherein the fuel composition has a RON of 95 or greater and comprises at least 50 vol% of renewable components. The fuel compositions of the present invention allow the formulation of a higher bio-content fuel, while still maintaining high RON, an improved distillation profile and low particulate emissions.

Secondary porosity system corrections are determined using a partial pore porosity correction factor and/or a porous matrix correction factor from a volume fraction of partial pores and/or porous material, respectively, identified in the segmented image. Saturation is calculated using the image porosity, the resolved porosity correction factor, and the secondary porosity correction factor(s).

Abstract
A process for improving yield of kerosene and/or diesel from a renewable feedstock involves hydrotreating a renewable feedstock and hydroisomerizing the hydrotreated liquid. The isomerized effluent is separated to produce an offgas stream, at least one fuel stream having a desired boiling point range, and a heavy fraction having a boiling point greater than the desired boiling point range. The heavy fraction is passed to a hydrocracking zone to produce a hydrocracked effluent. The hydrocracked effluent is passed to the hydroisomerization zone.

Abstract
The present invention provides a process to prepare kerosene, the process at least comprising the steps of: (a) providing a syngas stream comprising hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO); (b) subjecting the syngas stream provided in step (a) to a Fischer-Tropsch reaction thereby obtaining a Fischer-Tropsch product comprising at least 50 wt.% of compounds boiling above 370°C; (c) separating the Fischer-Tropsch product into at least a C1-C4 fraction, H2O and a C5+ fraction; (d) subjecting the C5+ fraction as separated in step (c) to hydroprocessing thereby obtaining a mixture comprising at least a kerosene fraction and a heavier fraction; (e) separating the mixture as obtained in step (d) thereby at least obtaining the kerosene fraction and the heavier fraction, wherein the kerosene fraction has a Final Boiling Point of at most 302°C, preferably at most 300°C as determined by ASTM D86-18 and a flashpoint of at least 38°C as determined by IP170, wherein in the separation of step (e) the effective cut point, as determined by ASTM D2892-15 X2, between the kerosene fraction and the heavier fraction is at least 315°C and at most 330°C, and wherein in step (e) a kerosene yield of above 70 wt.% is obtained, based on the weight of the C5+ fraction subjected to hydroprocessing in step (d); (f) recycling at least a part of the heavier fraction as obtained in step (e) to the hydroprocessing of step (d); wherein step d) is carried out by contacting the C5+ fraction with a first catalyst, wherein the first catalyst comprises a molecular sieve with a pore size between 5 and 7 angstrom and a SiO2/AlO3 ratio of at least 25 and a group VIII metal.

Implementations of the disclosed subject matter provide a process for capture of carbon dioxide from a gaseous feed stream. The process may include a direct air capture (DAC) unit comprising: a first and second inlet faces located on opposite sides of the DAC unit. A sorbent material may be located inside the DAC unit and at or behind each of the inlet faces. An outlet may be located at the top of the DAC unit and may provide an exit gaseous outlet stream. The exit gaseous outlet stream may have a flow that is produced by at least one fan. The process may include receiving a gaseous feed stream at the inlet faces. The gaseous feed stream may have an average CO2 concentration greater than 95% of the CO2 concentration of ambient air, by minimizing reingestion of the exit gaseous outlet stream, for any wind direction and any wind speed.

Abstract
This invention provides a method for the analysis of deposits on a machine part during its use while lubricated with a lubricating composition, said method comprising the steps of: i) using a 3D scanner to create a 3D model of the machine part after use; ii) mounting the machine part on a means for rotation; iii) obtaining a digital microscope image of an initial section of the external surface of said machine part; iv) rotating the machine part about its central axis by a specific amount; v) obtaining a digital microscope image of a further section of the external surface of said machine part, said further section of the external surface overlapping with the initial section of the external surface of the machine part; vi) repeating steps iii) to v) until the whole external surface of the machine part has been imaged; vii) removing the overlapping sections of the digital microscope images and creating a single continuous image of the external surface of the machine part; viii) processing said single continuous image by assigning a value to each pixel in the image related to the presence of deposits therein and, optionally, the thickness of the deposits; and ix) applying the dataset obtained in step viii) to the 3D model created in step i) to produce an accurate 3D representation for visualisation and quantification of the deposits on the machine part.
