Abstract

In a label printing system that is configured for voice-activated label printing, a computing device includes a label printing module and a transcription module that generates a text transcription of voice input that includes spoken instructions for a label to be printed. The label printing system also includes a label intent module that generates a set of prompts for an AI model based on the text transcription. The set of prompts is structured to cause the AI model to interpret the text transcription and generate a data structure for printing the label. The label intent module provides the set of prompts to the AI model and receives the data structure from the AI model. The data structure includes label content and formatting instructions. The data structure is provided to the label printing module, which uses the data structure to cause the label to be printed on the printing device.

Abstract

A method for determining the water content of a hygroscopic fluid. The method includes inserting an amount of hygroscopic fluid into a fluid ejection cartridge; attaching the fluid ejection cartridge to a fluid ejection device; activating the fluid ejection cartridge to dispense a predetermined number of fluid droplets from one or more nozzles of an ejection head attached to the fluid ejection cartridge onto a substrate to determine a total mass of the fluid droplets dispensed, a velocity of the dispensed fluid droplets or a combination of the total mass of the fluid droplets dispensed and the velocity of the dispensed fluid droplets; and using an information database that correlates the water content of the hygroscopic fluid to an average mass per fluid droplet dispensed and the velocity of the fluid droplets dispensed to determine the water content of the hygroscopic fluid.

Abstract

A cutter assembly including one or more of a blade subassembly, a pulley subassembly, and a clamping subassembly is provided. The blade subassembly may include a carriage retaining a blade configured for translational motion along a guiderail. The carriage may be coupled to a belt of the pulley subassembly, and one or more pulleys supported by the frame may be configured to drive linear motion of the belt, thereby generating translational motion of the carriage. In some instances, a motor connected to a gear train may be operably coupled to the one or more pulleys and the belt. In some instances, a clamp of the clamping subassembly is provided to be releasably engaged by the carriage. One or more spring members acting on the clamp may cause the clamp to initiate an automatic cleaning action of the blade when the clamp is engaged by the carriage.

Abstract

A maintenance carousel for collecting waste ink ejected by one or more printheads of an inkjet printer is provided. In some instances, the maintenance carousel may include a tray and an actuator assembly retained within an enclosure. The actuator assembly may be configured to drive rotation (e.g., indexing) of the tray each time the printheads eject waste ink into the maintenance carousel. This rotation may cause ink to accumulate within a tray of the maintenance carousel in a circular pattern. In some instances, the maintenance carousel may include electrostatic plates configured to generate an electromagnetic field which may improve collection of small droplets or aerosolized particles of waste ink. In further instances, the maintenance carousel may include a fan assembly configured to generate an airflow through the maintenance carousel such that small droplets or aerosolized particles of waste ink may be collected by one or more filters.

Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure simplify label printing for an object that includes a plurality of features, such as a patch panel that includes a plurality of ports. When a user wants to print a label for a group within an object (e.g., a group of ports within a patch panel), an image can be captured of at least one feature within the group. The image can be processed by a machine learning model (MLM) that has been trained to detect the presence of such features in captured images and to determine location information indicating where the features are located in the captured images. The label printing module can automatically determine characteristic(s) of the printed label (e.g., the length of the printed label, markings on the printed label) based at least in part on the location information determined by the MLM.

Abstract

A droplet dispensing device includes an adjustment plate; a first sensor, provided on an upper surface of the adjustment plate and detecting a position of the transparent droplet; a tray, on which one of the well plate and the adjustment plate is detachably mounted; a head part, discharging the transparent droplet; and a CPU, switching an operation mode from one of a first mode and a second mode to the other. In the first mode, the transparent droplet is discharged from the head part toward the well plate, and in the second mode, the transparent droplet is discharged from the head part toward the first sensor. The CPU adjusts the position on the well plate in which the transparent droplet is discharged from the head part in the first mode based on a position of the transparent droplet detected by the first sensor in the second mode.

Abstract

A band wrapping device forms a length of band material into a loop for automatically applying the band to a limb (e.g., wrist) of a user. The band wrapping device may receive the length of band material from a cassette receivable in the band wrapping device and can include a band transport mechanism for transporting the band material, a sealer module for sealing the band material to itself and cutting the band material to a length, and/or a ring module for reception of the limb of the user for band application. The device and its constituent components can help reduce the contact between the individual requiring a band and those applying the band, can help reduce waste by using a more precise amount of band material sized to the limb, and can help reduce the staffing requirements in areas in which the bands are to be applied.

Abstract

Printer systems and associated ink cartridges can have specialized inksets and alternative fluids for use in printing. In such systems and cartridges, the inkset of a unique cartridge may be deliberately limited relative to traditional inksets that seek to have a wide color gamut such that chemistries having greater durability may be employed. Still further, such cartridges may include one or more functional inks that have a purpose other than merely coloration. Particularly in compact printers, for which space is limited, the system can be designed to accept various unique cartridges based on the intended printing application and print based on the characteristics of the received cartridge. Beyond this, the system may advise the user when a different cartridge is necessary and/or may be beneficially used for a particular application.

Abstract

A label printing module can be configured to perform at least two actions in response to a request to create a label for an item. The labei printing module can create a print job that will produce a physical label for the item In addition, the label printing module can cause a digital label to be created and stored in a digital label database, which can be accessible via the Internet. The digital label can include an identifier that is uniquely associated with the item to which the physical label corresponds. The digital label can be associated with an Internet address. The Internet address of the digital label can be included in a machine-readable object on the corresponding printed physical label Someone who has the item corresponding to the printed physical label can view informational content within the corresponding, digital label by using a reader to read the machine-readable object.

Abstract

A light pipe for an electronic device, such as a barcode-reading device, can include a plurality of light-redirecting surfaces that are each positioned to receive light from a light source within the interior portion of the barcode-reading device and to redirect the light toward an optical element positioned on an exterior surface of the barcode-reading device. The plurality of light sources and the plurality of light-redirecting surfaces can collectively produce a uniform light output at the optical element when all of the plurality of light sources are activated. The light pipe can also include a plurality of optical barriers interspersed between the plurality of light-redirecting surfaces to isolate light from individual light sources. This allows for a segmented light output to be projected onto the optical element. The light pipe can be made from a flexible and resilient material, thereby allowing the light pipe to provide shock absorption.
