Abstract

This invention introduces a placement mechanism for a relay (2) device in a LoRa network, aiming to optimize network throughput, average success probability, and coverage probability. The relay (2) device is strategically positioned at a suitable distance from the gateway to establish a direct communication link. This placement aims to optimize the signal-to-noise (SNR) and signal-to-interference (SIR) probabilities. The goal is to position the relay (2) in a way that allows the forwarded signals to exceed the SNR receiver sensitivity threshold, as well as the thresholds for co-SF and cross-SF interference. In contrast to previous approaches that utilize deployed nodes as relay (2) nodes by either selecting the optimal node or determining the optimal SF region for relaying (2) purposes, this method employs an external relay (2) device to be strategically positioned at a precise distance, while ensuring the existing nodes retain their original roles unaffected.

Abstract

The proposed invention provides an adaptive, low-complexity relaying mechanism for LoRa devices (30). The positioning of the relay (20) is chosen to be geometrically effective so that it maintains a reliable connection with the gateway (10) and nearby end devices (30). Based on RSSI and SF and link budget calculations, the relay (20) can distinguish between devices (30) that can reach the gateway (10), cannot reach the gateway (10) without tuning existing transmission parameters and cannot communicate with the gateway (10) whatever the transmission parameters are. Thus, the relay (20) takes an action or not according to communication status of the end devices (30)..

Abstract

Invention is a waveform design method for dual-function radar communication (DFRC) systems. Proposed method enhances Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB) of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform for radar performance, while keeping the transmission transparent to the communication receiver. (Here transparent means a conventional OFDM receiver do not needs to know about the design to be able to receive succesfully.)

Abstract

A Frame Design for Joint Sensing and Communications using Position Modulation A method for frame design of radar and communication system is proposed which consists of following steps: a. Splitting incoming information bits (70) by bit splitter (40) b. The bits are splitted as b1 and b2. c. b1 bits are used to define the position of radar sequence over the time axis (b). d. After identifying the position for the radar sequence; the radar sequence is transmitted over that position via (c). e. the remaining b2 bits are BPSK modulated and are transmitted over the remaining positions through (d).

Abstract

Disclosed is a secure scheme that incorporates both internal and external eavesdroppers to secure all users' links in the downlink PD-NOMA. In particular, the proposed scheme implies that the BS induces a phase shift in each user's symbol based on its corresponding instantaneous channel phase. The phase shift of each user is restricted such that the original symbol is moved to the location of another symbol in the constellation diagram. Therefore, as each user is aware of its instantaneous channel phase only, it will be able to recover the actual phase of its corresponding symbol. Thus, the proposed scheme does not only protect the data against eavesdroppers, but it also guarantees confidentiality and privacy against all other users.

Abstract

A computer-implemented penetration testing method for determining security vulnerabilities on communication ports of a network comprises steps of; providing multiple scripts having executable tasks for scanning the network to discover the communication ports and to determine which communication port of the network is open or closed and service data of the open ports and enumerate the open ports and the services and to detect a security vulnerability, sending the tasks to a task queue that distributes tasks across multiple processing units which are configured to run the scripts for executing the tasks, parallelly triggering the processing units to execute the tasks.

Abstract

Disclosed is a method to protect wireless communication signals from being overheard/intercepted by malicious eavesdroppers. The method has three main steps: selection of the coordinating transmission points (TPs) for the user whose communication is to be secured, splitting of the data that is to be sent to the aforementioned user into N parts, where N is the number of TPs used and channel based manipulation of the transmitted signal to ensure that delay spread is less than guard duration.

Abstract

Disclosed is a channel-dependent multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) technique with adaptive spreading codes. Adaptive spreading codes are used for each subcarrier per user which increase the security level of conventional MC-CDMA. Two different map designs are proposed: fixed and adaptive interval maps. These maps are shared among all nodes and gives information about the spreading code sequences for corresponding channel gains.

Abstract

This invention relates to a method for multiplexing multiple backscatter devices (i.e., Internet of Things (IoT) sensors/devices) with and without mobility using an orthogonal time-frequency space (OTFS) waveform. In the proposed method, the transmission point transmits an OTFS signal in the air, which is modulated and backscattered by backscatter devices. The information transmitted by backscatter devices is detected in the delay-Doppler domain.

Abstract

In the area of Joint Random Subcarrier Selection and Channel-Based Artificial Signal Design Aided PLS, a method for providing physical layer security (PLS) depending on the randomness of wireless channel is proposed. Specifically, a channel-based joint random subcarrier selection and artificial signal design are introduced to protect the communication in the presence of a passive eavesdropper which can be even stronger than the legitimate receiver. Our analysis assumes a window-based subcarrier selection method in which the strongest subcarriers in each window are selected. Chosen subcarriers are considered for secret sequence extraction. The generated channel dependent secret sequence is used for both random subcarrier selection and artificial signal design. We evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method through some representative metrics, such as secret sequence disagreement rate (SSDR), throughput and bit error rate (BER), in both perfect and imperfect channel estimation cases. Simulation results are presented and insightful discussions are drawn.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for blind identification of channel tap numbers in wireless communication by using deep neural networks (DNN). In the proposed method, it is possible to train a DNN using only the transmitted and received signals of a wireless system in order to obtain the number of channel taps. We propose a robust and efficient sparse representation technique for the identification of wireless channels. We estimate the number of channel taps which is considered as one of the sparse features of the hannel The blind estimation performed in the proposed system, enhances the spectral efficiency of the used wireless communication system since the employed DNN does not require to transmit extra signals for identifying the channel taps. In our identification method, physical insights are not available or used.

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for a secure communication method having a secret key generation technique. The novelty of the proposed method stems from enhancing physical layer security (PHY) by using channel-adaptive keys, after manipulating a channel by introducing an artificial component into the channel. An adaptively designed artificial component is cascaded with the legitimate user’s channel. In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, subcarriers corresponding to a channel gain higher than a threshold value are selected to extract the keys. Since the number of the selected subcarriers is adaptive, the length of the generated key sequences is changing adaptively as well. Thus, the channel reciprocity property in a time division duplexing (TDD) system is utilized.
