This invention introduces a placement mechanism for a relay (2) device in a LoRa network, aiming to optimize network throughput, average success probability, and coverage probability. The relay (2) device is strategically positioned at a suitable distance from the gateway to establish a direct communication link. This placement aims to optimize the signal-to-noise (SNR) and signal-to-interference (SIR) probabilities. The goal is to position the relay (2) in a way that allows the forwarded signals to exceed the SNR receiver sensitivity threshold, as well as the thresholds for co-SF and cross-SF interference. In contrast to previous approaches that utilize deployed nodes as relay (2) nodes by either selecting the optimal node or determining the optimal SF region for relaying (2) purposes, this method employs an external relay (2) device to be strategically positioned at a precise distance, while ensuring the existing nodes retain their original roles unaffected.

Disclosed is a secure scheme that incorporates both internal and external eavesdroppers to secure all users' links in the downlink PD-NOMA. In particular, the proposed scheme implies that the BS induces a phase shift in each user's symbol based on its corresponding instantaneous channel phase. In the area of Joint Random Subcarrier Selection and Channel-Based Artificial Signal Design Aided PLS, a method for providing physical layer security (PLS) depending on the randomness of wireless channel is proposed. Specifically, a channel-based joint random subcarrier selection and artificial signal design are introduced to protect the communication in the presence of a passive eavesdropper which can be even stronger than the legitimate receiver. Our analysis assumes a window-based subcarrier selection method in which the strongest subcarriers in each window are selected. Chosen subcarriers are considered for secret sequence extraction. The generated channel dependent secret sequence is used for both random subcarrier selection and artificial signal design. We evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method through some representative metrics, such as secret sequence disagreement rate (SSDR), throughput and bit error rate (BER), in both perfect and imperfect channel estimation cases. Simulation results are presented and insightful discussions are drawn.
The present disclosure relates to a method for blind identification of channel tap numbers in wireless communication by using deep neural networks (DNN). In the proposed method, it is possible to train a DNN using only the transmitted and received signals of a wireless system in order to obtain the number of channel taps. We propose a robust and efficient sparse representation technique for the identification of wireless channels. We estimate the number of channel taps which is considered as one of the sparse features of the hannel The blind estimation performed in the proposed system, enhances the spectral efficiency of the used wireless communication system since the employed DNN does not require to transmit extra signals for identifying the channel taps. In our identification method, physical insights are not available or used.
Disclosed is a method for a secure communication method having a secret key generation technique. The novelty of the proposed method stems from enhancing physical layer security (PHY) by using channel-adaptive keys, after manipulating a channel by introducing an artificial component into the channel. An adaptively designed artificial component is cascaded with the legitimate user’s channel. In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, subcarriers corresponding to a channel gain higher than a threshold value are selected to extract the keys. Since the number of the selected subcarriers is adaptive, the length of the generated key sequences is changing adaptively as well. Thus, the channel reciprocity property in a time division duplexing (TDD) system is utilized.
