Abstract

An information processing apparatus includes a touch panel which displays pieces of identification information including letters, figures, and symbols and detects a contact of the panel with a finger of a user or other object. When the touch panel detects the contact of the panel, a detection unit specifies identification information of one or more of the multiple pieces of identification information displayed on the touch panel, indicated by a position at which the contact in question occurred. The detection unit also detects an area of part of the panel where the contact occurred. A storage unit stores reference identification information and a reference area range. A control unit performs particular processing upon matching of the detected identification information with the stored reference identification information and the area of the contact detected by the detection unit falling within the stored reference area range.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a head-mountable information processing apparatus allowing a user to hear a desired sound even if ambient sound unnecessary for the user is present. An audio input interface includes sound microphones worn in the vicinity of the user's ear, collects the ambient sound that occurs outside the head-mountable information processing apparatus, and converts the ambient sound into an input audio signal. An audio output interface, including headphones, converts a generated output audio signal for output, and emits the audio output toward the user. Based on a volume level of the input audio signal and a volume level of the output audio signal, a controller determines whether or not a state in which the ambient sound is preventing the audio for output from being heard is occurring, and based on a determination result, the controller controls a sound emission operation of the audio output interface.

Abstract

High-quality video is provided using a small amount of coded bits. The moving picture decoding method performs inter-frame prediction processing. With the aforementioned inter-frame prediction processing, blocks with similar motion vectors from among the motion vectors in multiple blocks that have already been decoded are combined and a combined area is computed. A predicted vector for a target block to be decoded is computed using the motion vector of the aforementioned combined area, and a motion vector for the aforementioned target block is computed based on the aforementioned predicted vector and a difference vector which is included in a coded stream that is input. A predicted image is generated using the aforementioned motion vector, and a difference image which is included in the aforementioned coded stream and the aforementioned predicted image are added to generate a decoded image.

Abstract

A main controller of an HUD is configured to: acquire road surface information of a front road surface based on a plurality of measurement points on the front road surface, which is detected by a road surface detection sensor mounted on a vehicle with the HUD and is positioned forward of a traveling direction of the vehicle; calculate, by using the road surface information, a virtual image plane position on a virtual image plane where a virtual image of a display object is displayed, which is a display position of the virtual image for displaying the virtual image along the front road surface; and calculate a display position of a display surface within an image display device, which corresponds to the virtual image plane position, so as to output, to the image display device, a control signal for displaying the display object on the display position of the display surface.
