Abstract

Provided is an electromagnetic wave absorber capable of effectively absorbing an electromagnetic wave of a high frequency of a millimeter wave band or above, and capable of effectively absorbing an electromagnetic wave of a desired frequency even when a surrounding temperature change occurs. The electromagnetic wave absorber comprises, in a binder 1b, a magnetoplumbite-type hexagonal ferrite 1a that magnetically resonates in a frequency band of a millimeter wave band. In the magnetoplumbite-type hexagonal ferrite, some of metal sites are replaced with La. In a graph showing the relationship between the frequency of an incoming electromagnetic wave and the value of the imaginary part of the complex relative permeability of the electromagnetic wave absorber, when the temperature of the electromagnetic wave absorber changes from 25°C to 105° C, the value of the frequency at which a positive peak occurs shows a positive rate of change, and the ratio of the amount of change in the frequency at which a positive peak occurs when the temperature changes from 25°C to 105° C to the value of the frequency at which a positive peak occurs at 25°C is 1.5% or less.

Abstract

A biological examination apparatus extracts an up-and-down movement component associated with the thyroid cartilage and a back-and-forth movement component associated with the thyroid cartilage from a fitting result obtained by fitting a model function modeling the swallowing movement to distance information based on detection data detected by the larynx portion displacement detector. Based on the extracted components, two-dimensional trajectory data indicating the movement trajectory of the thyroid cartilage is generated. In addition, based on data from a swallowing sound detector, identification display data to determine, on the trajectory graph, which of the outbound path of the movement path according to the elevation and the forward movement of the thyroid cartilage and the return path of the movement path according to the movement of the thyroid cartilage has a peak of the swallowing sound, in a series movement paths of the thyroid cartilage at the time of swallowing, is generated.

A wireless LAN communication system which achieves convenience where a terminal of a user who is external to an organization can temporarily use the system while ensuring security. For example, a first terminal is used by a user internal to an organization and a second terminal is used by a user external to the organization. A communication device has a display function and the first terminal connects to the communication device via a wireless LAN access point device. The second terminal connects, under permission from the first terminal, to the communication device via the wireless LAN access point. The second terminal uses the display function of the communication device through the connection via the wireless LAN access point. The first terminal and the communication device confirm whether the permission is to be continued or terminated to make the second terminal unable to use the display function.

Abstract

A mobile terminal has a communication processing unit that transmits, to a video display apparatus for displaying a broadcasted video content, a request for setting a viewing schedule of the video content. A storage unit stores a starting time of the video content for which the setting of the viewing schedule has been requested; and an information provision unit provides information to a user of the mobile terminal. A control unit determines whether the video display apparatus is existent around the mobile terminal. At a first predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit notifies the user of the first predetermined time. If the video display apparatus is not existent around the mobile terminal at a second predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit then notifies the user that it is the second predetermined time before the starting time.

Abstract

An external scene image captured by an external scene imaging electronic camera attached to a head mounted display (HMD) is projected and displayed onto an image display screen arranged in front of the eyes of the user as a virtual image with a suitable viewing distance corresponding to the visual acuity of the user. At this time, for each object image presented in the virtual image of the external scene image, the virtual image is processed and formatted to add a predetermined degree of binocular disparity and image blur to the virtual image projected and displayed on the right and the left image display screen on the basis of a predetermined converted distance calculated from the real distance of each object. Thus, the user is given a sense of a realistic perspective for the virtual image of the external scene, free of the discomfort or unease.

Abstract

A method of reproducing audio content between a main terminal including a first speaker and a plurality of subsidiary terminals including a second speaker. Device specific identification (ID) information of the subsidiary terminals and association information for transmitting one of the audio data of the audio content to one of the subsidiary terminals are stored. The association information defines that one of the audio data of the audio content is associated with one of the device specific ID information. The subsidiary terminals transmit/receive with the main terminal and the device specific ID information is transmitted from the subsidiary terminals to the main terminal when connecting to the main terminal. The encoded audio data of the audio content is transmitted to the subsidiary terminals based on the association information, then is decoded and the subsidiary terminals output the audio data to the second speaker.

Abstract

A technique for evaluating human cognitive and motor functions by a plurality of hand movement tasks is disclosed. A task execution method determines the execution order of a plurality of tasks which a test subject is caused to execute to acquire a characteristic quantity. A test subject group task database includes scores given in advance and characteristic quantities obtained from a plurality of tasks stored as past data corresponding to each of a plurality of test subjects. In a storage device, (1) a differentiation precision database for a case in which test subjects are divided into two groups by predetermined threshold value scores differentiated by the characteristic quantities, or (2) an estimation precision database for a case in which a score is estimated using the characteristic quantity for a predetermined score value is prepared for each of the tasks on the basis of the test subject group task database.

Abstract

An image display system includes a first terminal device and with a second terminal device whose usable function range is smaller than a usable function range of the first terminal device. The image display system includes a display projection unit, a communication unit that establishes wireless connection with the first and second terminal devices, a control unit that manages the wireless connection, and a connection control image generating unit. The control unit and the connection control image generating unit generate a terminal connection image including information for connecting the second terminal device with the image display system, based on terminal connection permission information that assigns the second terminal device whose wireless connection with the display system is permitted, the terminal connection permission information being transmitted from the first terminal device. The display projection unit displays the terminal connection image.

Abstract

In a head mounted display 100, a memory 71 stores an application. An image pickup unit 74 takes an image of a site of a user 1, and a position specifying unit 73 specifies a position and a direction of the head mounted display 100. A detector 75 detects a position indicated by the user 1 on the basis of the image taken by the image pickup unit 74, and a setting unit 76 sets a position indicating a home position on the basis of a result detected by the detector 75 and the position and the direction specified by the position specifying unit 73.
