Abstract

The invention relates to method for conveying a liquid into a container by means of a conveying device. The conveying device comprising a liquid reservoir, a pump and a tap. The liquid is supplied by the pump from the liquid reservoir via a tap inlet to the tap. The liquid emerges from a tap outlet of the tap and flows into the container arranged below the tap outlet. An outlet volume flow rate of the liquid flowing from the tap outlet is controlled in such a way that at first the liquid is conveyed with an initial volume flow rate until an initial delivery volume has been conveyed and then the liquid is conveyed with a final volume flow rate, the final volume flow rate being greater than the initial volume flow rate.

Abstract

A filter cartridge for use within a filter device for filtering liquids comprises a cap (8) which is displaceably mounted on a housing (2) between an activation position, in which the cap (8) forms a activation compartment (10) that is fluidly connected to an activation port (19) of the housing (2), and a use position with a reduced volume of the activation compartment (10). The cap (8) comprises an activation opening (11) and a use opening (20). In the activation position, the activation compartment (10) inside the cap (8) can be filled with a liquid through the activation opening (11) of the cap (8). The displacement of the cap (8) closes the activation opening (11) of the cap (8) and reduces the volume of the activation compartment (10) to force at least a portion of the fluid from the activation compartment (10) through the activation port (19) into the housing (2) and then through a filter medium (3) until the cap (8) is in the use position and is in contact with the housing (2) such that the use opening (19) of the cap (8) overlaps the inlet port (5) of the housing (2) and allows fluid to pass through the inlet port (5) into the housing (2).

Abstract

In a method for determining the cylinder filling level of a gas bottle (2) which is filled with a quantity of gas with a preset gas pressure, a change in a temperature of the withdrawal quantity of the gas in the gas extraction line (3) during a withdrawal operation is detected by a temperature sensor (7) in or at a gas extraction line (3). On the basis of the determined temperature change, the withdrawal quantity of gas that is withdrawn from the gas bottle (2) during the withdrawal operation is determined. A residual quantity of the gas that remains in the gas bottle (2) after the withdrawal operation is determined as the difference between the initial quantity of gas in the gas bottle (2) before the withdrawal operation, and the determined withdrawal quantity of gas that is withdrawn during the withdrawal operation. A device (1) for determining a filling level of a gas within a gas bottle (2), which is connected via a valve device (5) to a gas extraction line (3), comprises a temperature sensor (7) that is arranged in or at the gas extraction line (3). With the temperature sensor (7) a change in a temperature in the gas extraction line (3) can be detected during a withdrawal operation of a withdrawal quantity of gas from the gas bottle (2).

Abstract

Method for processing data of a system for controlling the hardness of water. A sensor (12, 33, 57) measures a parameter related to the hardness of the treated water (e.g. the conductivity). A processor receives the sensor data and decides whether or not to pass on a signal related to the parameter to further process. This ensures that incorrect hardness readings, such as data recorded right after the exchange of the ion exchanger cartridge, are not transmitted to a further process. Alternatively, an integral value (e.g. the total amount of water processed since the last cartridge change) is taken into account and the sensor data is adjusted.

Abstract

Method and apparatus for determining the hardness of water. Water is separated into two portions. One portion is treated in an ion exchanger while the other portion bypasses the treatment unit. Both portions are mixed together again to obtain water of defined hardness. The conductivity of the water for different blending ratios is determined and the change of conductivity with the blending ratio is used to determine a conversion factor for the conversion of conductivity values into hardness values.

Abstract

it is descπbed a method of measurement of the volume VD of the flow-rate of electrically conductive liquids the conductivity of which is at least codetermined by at least one parameter p, wherein the liquid flows through a vessel having a predetermined shape, and wherein the respective filling volume Vo is determined by at least one measured value x, which is measured by an electrical conductivity measuring device comprising electrodes, wherein the vessel is filled in succession and then is emptied through its outlet, through which the filling heights h are constantly changing. At least one reference table comprising calibration measured values xR and filling volumes Vo belonging to them is constructed by means of calibration measurements using several liquid samples, which have different p-values and different filling heights h in the vessel. The measured values x are measured in time intervals and the respective filling volumes Vo are determined by comparison of the respective measured values x with values xR of the table, and the volume VD of the rate of flow is determined from the filling volumes Vo over a time period. The measuring device (10) for the determination of the volume VD of flow rate of electrically conductive liquids through a vessel (5) comprises at least two measuring electrodes (22, 24).
