Abstract

Pendulum clock (1) defining a main axis (XI) and comprising an external support made of nonmagnetic material, a clock dial (12) supported at least indirectly by this external support and able to rotate about this axis (XI) with respect to said external support, a rod (16) comprising a first end (24) articulated to the external support, the rod being configured to oscillate in an oscillation plane (P), and free to rotate about this axis (XI) with respect to this external support, a body (20) made of ferromagnetic material mounted on a second end (26) of the rod and oscillating with the rod near the clock dial and an electromagnet (30) secured to the external support and configured to pace the oscillation of the rod. The rod and the body belong to a pendulum capable of oscillating, some axial distance away from the clock dial, in the oscillation plane in apparent rotation with respect to the clock dial. The pendulum clock comprises means (36) for compensating for an angular offset of said plane (P) which means are designed to simulate the apparent rotation of a Foucault pendulum installed at a geographical latitude of 90°N, by approximating the duration of the sidereal day and being equal to the duration of the solar day.
