Abstract

The subject of the present patent is a method to determine the flame shape of a swirling flame in a steady-operating burner in a closed combustion chamber. The broadband combustion noise of the burner is sensed inside the combustion chamber, and the spectrum and the sound pressure levels are calculated from the acoustic vibrations of the process. The conclusions are made on this data to determine the flame shape. To determine the governing frequencies, the burner is investigated at various operating conditions. At least one parameter from the fuel flow rate, combustion air flow rate, and the swirl number is varied in the physically accessible range of the burner. The spectrum is divided into 0-500 Hz, 501-2000 Hz, and 2 kHz-6 kHz frequency ranges, then the amplitudes at the band center frequencies are calculated. Based on either the temporal analysis of band center frequencies or the temporal variation of their ratio or the two combined, the shape of the swirling flame can be determined.

Abstract

The invention is based on the integrated application of a thermal-electric active device (phonon transistor). Phonon transistors consist of resistors that respond to temperature changes with a metal-insulator phase transition, or possibly other resistors suitable for heat generation. These resistors are thermally and electrically coupled to each other as needed, and are thermally and electrically insulated from each other. The thermal-electric system built in this way is suitable for the implementation of high-integration logic networks. The switch condition of a simple majority gate is that half or more of the inputs receive a high logic level. An extended majority logic gate is a generalization of a simple majority gate, i.e. a multi-input logic circuit whose output switches to a logic high level to excite a given number of inputs. By precisely sizing the circuit and adjusting the strength of the thermal coupling, it is possible to activate a certain proportion of the input (heating) resistors in order to tilt the output. With this, the switch-on threshold can be set not only to 50% of the inputs, but also to a different value, i.e. the number of elements of the simple majority gate and the number of elements of the extended majority gate can be essentially the same. By adjusting the strength of the thermal coupling, it is also possible to take each input into account with different weights. The operation of a controlled, multimode, thermal electrical resistor-based oscillator circuit is based on the application of a negative differential resistance during metal-semiconductor switching. Complemented with a capacitor and control electronics, the switching device is able to produce stable two-level vibrations, multi-level vibrations and irregular and chaotic vibrations in various vibration modes. The grassfire algorithm performs the transformation of two-dimensional shapes. The result of the transformation will be the skeleton of the shape, which is illustratively the line of meeting of the fire front launched around the perimeter of the shape. To implement the algorithm, the devices must be switched on in a perimeter corresponding to the shape in a two-dimensional matrix (M) composed of resistors with a metal / semiconductor phase transition. Due to the heat dissipation, the adjacent devices are also switched on, the order of switching on plots the result of the algorithm.

Abstract

Method and system for handling group sharing in distributed data storage environment, to utilize online unexploited storage space and bandwidth of users. Files of a user are cut into pieces which are then distributed among other online users. The original files are stored retrievably. Key Lock Boxes (KLB) are used for storing keys encrypted. With an authentication and key exchange protocol a common group key is generated for encrypting a Master Key Lock Box. The Master KLB represents the root of an oriented tree graph, the nodes of the graph represent KLBs. There is an oriented edge between two nodes when a source KLB (17) contains the key of a target KLB (19). The KLBs (13, 14, 17, 19) contain keys (18, 20) to a subset of files. Starting from said Master Key Lock Box by using the common group key the KLBs (13, 14, 17, 19) are opened until the requested file is reached.

Abstract

A payload suspension system for facilitating three- dimensional movement of a suspended payload especially but not exclusively for aerial tethered/cable suspended robots, rescue systems and crane systems is provided. Keeping the main cables together by an arrester unit can increase the reachable area of a payload and therefore a larger place for positioning is available and less space is required for the suspending cables. A payload platform is suspended by main cables traversing through the arrester unit which keeps the main cables together. The arrester unit is connected to the payload platform by an anchoring cable.
