Abstract

An electricity generator comprises an electricity generating unit (30) and a stand (35) which, when deployed, supports a drive wheel (20) of a wheeled vehicle (10) clear of the ground and permits it to power the electricity generating unit (30). This allows a wheeled vehicle (10) such as a bicycle to be used for purposes such as mobile phone recharging in remote areas of the developing world where a cheap and/or reliable electricity supply may not be available.
