Abstract

The invention relates to a method for separating a profiled multi-chamber section (2). The profiled multi-chamber section (2) is separated using at least one cutting blade (6) which is moved in two movements which overlap with each other in two movement directions (A, B). The cutting blade (6) is moved through the profiled multi-chamber section (2) in at least two movement phases, wherein during a first movement phase, the profiled multi-chamber section (2) is separated by a predominant movement in a first movement direction (A) along a cutting edge (12) of the cutting blade (6), and during a second movement phase, the profiled multi-chamber section is separated by a predominant movement in a second movement direction (B) transversely to the cutting edge (12). The invention also relates to a profiled multi-chamber section separating device for carrying out such a method.
