Abstract

Method for producing a metallic hollow body, wherein the hollow body is subjected to a forming process with uniform tubular, round, square, rectangular, oval, hexagonal or polygonal outlet cross-section via the following method steps: the hollow body held in a holding device is partially inductively heated; in the partially inductively heated region, the wall thicknesses of the hollow body, in a region loaded in the case of use, is increased by at least one forming tool inserted and/or attached in or on the hollow body, on the inside and/or outside, and in a region loaded less in the later case of use, and/or the cross-section outer dimensions of the hollow body held in the holding apparatus are partially reduced or partially increased by a forming tool; and/or with the same outer dimensions of the hollow body, the inner dimensions of the hollow body are partially reduced or partially increased in the partially inductively heated region by the forming tool.
