Abstract

The present invention relates to a nanofiber sheet-type medical support film prepared by electrospinning, and a preparation method thereof. The present invention prepares a nanofiber sheet-type medical support film which is porous and has a nano-sized fiber diameter, by: introducing a water-soluble polymer such as a ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer into a hydrophilic polyurethane resin, which is a main component, to mix the same; electrospinning the obtained mixture to obtain a nanofiber nonwoven fabric; infiltrating the nanofiber nonwoven fabric in a solvent to dissolve and remove a hydrophilic polymer component; and drying the obtained product. The medical support film obtained according to the present invention has remarkable longitudinal and transverse elasticity, has excellent elasticity and moisture transpiration due to a porous structure inside the film, and shows remarkable biocompatibility due to the minimized residual amount of an organic solvent.

Abstract

Disclosed herein is a method for producing a polyurethane foam dressing that protects injuries such as wounds or burns and is useful for wound healing. More particularly, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a polyurethane foam dressing with remarkably improved productivity and processing efficiency, which can improve physical properties of the polyurethane foam dressing. The method comprises: preparing a moisture permeable waterproof polyurethane film layer; preparing a polyurethane prepolymer; preparing a polyurethane foaming mixture; obtaining a tacky gel type polyurethane foam layer; laminating the tacky gel type polyurethane foam layer on the polyurethane film layer; and winding the produced polyurethane foam dressing in a roll form and then ageing the foam dressing. The method further includes, impregnating the polyurethane foam with a moisturizer and drying the foam and, then, treating the foam with oxygen plasma to modify a surface of the foam dressing, thereby improving absorption rate of the foam dressing. The method of the present invention has advantages such as remarkably improved productivity and processing efficiency allowing mass production of foam dressings, thereby considerably reducing production costs and enabling supply of low cost foam dressings with improved physical properties.

Abstract

Disclosed herein are a polyurethane foam dressing comprising a drug-containing layer and a method for manufacturing the same, which are suitable for healing an infected wound or a wound where there is a danger of infection. By formation of a drug-containing layer separated from a foam layer, the polyurethane foam dressing enables drugs to be favorably delivered to the wound, regardless of secretion/nonsecretion of exudates and the amount of exudates secreted. The method comprises forming a nonporous waterproof polyurethane film layer, forming a tacky gel-like polyurethane foam layer, laminating the polyurethane foam layer on the polyurethane film layer, and forming a drug-containing layer. The polyurethane foam dressing is capable of preventing drug waste which results from addition of excessive drugs, based on favorable release of drugs via the drug-containing layer separated from a foam layer. In addition, the polyurethane foam dressing enables favorable drug release, regardless of secretion/nonsecretion of exudates and the amount of exudates, thus rendering the drug to be sufficiently delivered even to wounds hardly secreting exudates as well as wounds in a middle or late stage.
