Abstract

There is described a disposable or single-use container lid which has an annular rim for frictionally engaging a rolled rim of a container, such as a paper cup, which facilitates retention of the lid on the container. The lid may include an annular shock-absorbing structure, and retention rim construction, wherein the shock absorbing structure providing a predetermined amount of extension and contraction to absorb forces or stress applied to the lid and/or container and facilitate retention of the lid on the container when dropped, tipped, or upon falling or squeezing of the container. The retention rim is specially constructed to resist disengagement. The lid may also have an integral drinking spout extending from the top surface of the lid.

Abstract

The invention is directed to a multi-wall container, including a first inner sidewall having a first face and a second face, wherein the first face is polycoated, at least a second outer sidewall having a first face and a second face, wherein the second face of the second sidewall is polycoated. The container provides enhanced use for both hot and cold products, using the minimal amount of materials so as to be cost-effective. The arrangement of the invention may also allow for the container configuration to be tailored to the type of products to be used therewith, with the temperature insulative characteristics selectively modified to provide desired temperature insulation and sensitivity to the user when handling the container.
