An apparatus, intended for use in indicating time interval durations of particular events in an augmented reality display, includes a computer system with a processing system having a hardware processor and a memory accessible to the processing system, a user interface controller under control of the processing system, a display controllable by the user interface controller to show a user interface, and logic, under control of the processing system. The logic has modules that control the user interface controller to cause the display to show a first clockface that indicates a time interval duration for at least a first event and an augmented reality background appearing behind the first clockface.

The logic has modules that make up an application programming interface (API) for an ETMD to generate a display that has various regions including an ante meridiem events region and a post meridiem events region that share a common center. The API helps a calling program cause the display of arciforms to indicate the time duration of events. In various embodiments, the API accesses calendar databases of the user and collects event information, putting the events together into an aggregation database that the API accesses to retrieve events on a date, user, location, or other basis. Various implementations provide for the display or arciforms on a map or as a camera overlay.

Arciforms indicate the time duration of events. In various embodiments, an arciform has a first start point in one of the regions and connected to an initial arc of points that are equidistant from the common center, and a final arc of points that are equidistant from the common center connected to a first end point in a different one of the regions, with a transition indicator linking the initial arc with the final arc.

The parts of such arciforms are joined by an integral boundary-crossing transition indicator.
