Abstract

An electronic device may include hardware and software configured to detect device failures in the electronic device and log a device error code for detected device failures. Device error codes may be electronically communicated over a communications link to a system external to the electronic device. A client device (e.g., a smartphone, tablet, pad, or PC) may be linked with the electronic device and may be configured to receive the communicated device error codes. The client device may be operative to communicate the received device error codes to another system (e.g., a backend system). The electronic device may link with the backend system and communicate the device error codes to the backend system. Networked computing resources in communication with the backend system may analyze the received error codes to determine whether or not to communicate a device replacement notice. A customer profile may be used as part of the analysis.

Abstract

One or more wearable devices may measure real-time blood pressure in a body using signals from multiple sensors including but not limited to a multi-axis accelerometer, a bioimpedance (BI) sensor, a capacitive touch sensor, an electrocardiography sensor (ECG), a ballistocardiograph sensor (BCG), a photoplethysmogram (PPG), a pulse oximetery sensor, and a phonocardiograph sensor (PCG), for example. Accelerometry data (e.g., from a multi-axis accelerometer or BCG sensor) may be used to derive effects of acceleration (e.g., gravity) on changes in blood pressure (e.g., due to changes in blood volume as measured using BI signals). The accelerometry data may be used to determine a baseline value for BI voltage signals that are indicative of diastolic and systolic blood pressure (e.g., in mmHg).

Abstract

Automated optical inspection of a wearable device and/or sub-assemblies of the wearable device in-situ in an ambient environment where temperature and ambient lighting are need not be controlled are described. A key gold unit for the wearable device or a subassembly of the wearable device may be mounted to an automated optical inspections system that captures images of the key gold unit, converts the image from a color space it was captured in to a Hue, Saturation and Value/Brightness color space. Units under test are imaged while stationary or while being rotated (e.g., 360 degrees) and are imaged. Image data is converted into the Hue, Saturation and Value/Brightness color space and compared with the data from the key gold unit to determine if the unit under test is color matched with the key gold unit. Functionality such as near field communications, capacitive touch, display functionality and others may be tested.

Abstract

Mobile device speaker control may include: monitoring one or more devices coupled (e.g., wired or wirelessly) with a data network, receiving one or more data packets from each of the one or more devices, filtering received data packets by evaluating a received signal strength (e.g., RSSI) of the received packets. The received packets may be ordered in a priority based on a value, and comparing the received signal strength of each of the received packets to a threshold to determine whether the one or more devices are to perform an action; and/or detecting a device within a proximity of a speaker box coupled with a data network, filtering a data packet received from the device to determine a received signal strength associated with the device, comparing the received signal strength to a threshold, and determining whether an action is to be performed based on a result of the comparing.
