Abstract

The invention relates to a davit comprising: a support column (200), with a turret (300) and a boom (400); tackle (500) for attaching and lifting loads from the boom (400); and a lifting mechanism, connected to the tackle (500), comprising a cable (701), which is coupled to the tackle (500), and a reel (702), which is couplable to a frame (301). The davit includes a transmission to enable the end of the cable (701) opposite the end coupled to the tackle (500) to be wound/unwound on the reel (702) so as to move the tackle (500), the cable (701) remaining taut between the tackle (500) and the turret (300). The turret (300) includes a locking mechanism (600) for preventing and enabling pivoting movement of the boom (400), wherein, with the pivoting movement enabled, the cable (701) supports tension, keeping the boom (400) in position, controlled by actuation of the transmission. The davit allows easy access to the boom (400) and tackle (500) for maintenance.
