Floating roof (1) for a storage tank (17), the storage tank (17) being arranged for holding and storing a fluid load (5), wherein the floating roof (1) floats on the fluid load (5) in the storage tank (17) when in use, the floating roof (1) is provided with one or more floating segments (15), wherein the floating segment (15) is provided with a free space (6), wherein a discharge element (10) is provided in the free space (6) of the floating segment (15 ), wherein the discharge element (10) is arranged for taking up fluid load (5) from the free space (6) and for discharging that fluid load (5) outside the floating segment (15). A method to recover the buoyancy of such a floating roof is also provided.

Abstract
