A break-off bolt for securing a conductor within a connector includes a first thread section, a second thread section and a torque-limiting section arranged between the first thread section and the second thread section. The first thread section and the second thread section comprise the same external thread having a minor diameter. The torque-limiting section has at least one of no thread with an outer diameter larger than the minor diameter of the external thread or an external thread having a minor diameter larger than the minor diameter of the external thread of the first and second thread sections.
A cable connector assembly includes a pair of sub-assemblies movable in translation relative to each other along a clamping direction and a tightening device tightening the sub-assemblies along the clamping direction. Each of the sub-assemblies is pivotable relative to a pivot axis extending perpendicular to the clamping direction. Each of the sub-assemblies has a main housing and a clamping part at least partially housed within the main housing. The clamping part is movable in translation relative to the main housing along the clamping direction. The tightening device tightens the sub-assemblies along the clamping direction with a first clamping region formed between the sub-assemblies that receives and clamps a first cable. A secondary clamping region is formed in each of the sub-assemblies between the clamping part and the main housing that receives and clamps a secondary cable.
H01R 4/2408 - Connections using contact members penetrating or cutting insulation or cable strands the contact members having teeth, prongs, pins or needles penetrating the insulation actuated by clamping screws
A cable connector (100-900) for connecting an electrical cable, the electrical cable including a cable conductor having a terminal end portion, the terminal end portion having an end face, includes an electrically conductive connector body (110), a conductor bore (102) in the connector body (110), a securing mechanism, and a contact mechanism (141). The connector bore (102) defines a conductor bore axis and is configured to receive the terminal end portion of the cable conductor along the conductor bore axis. The securing mechanism is operable to clamp onto the terminal end portion. The contact mechanism (141) includes a pressure member (170A, 170B), an electrical contact surface, and a drive mechanism (151). The drive mechanism (151) is selectively operable to drive the pressure member (170A, 170B) to force the electrical contact surface against the end face of the cable conductor.
The present invention related to a cable lug (10, 30) for a connector, in particular for a connector with a flexible fitting, comprising a first portion (12) comprising a receiving end (14) for receiving a cable, and a second portion (16) extending from the first portion (12) and comprising a through hole (18) configured and arranged such that a stud can be passed therethrough, the through hole (18) extending transversally through two opposite surfaces (S1, S2) of the second portion (16), characterized in that at least one surface of the two opposite surfaces (S1, S2) of the second portion (16) is provided with a protrusion (20, 32) projecting away from said surface and positioned between the through hole (18) and the first portion (12), and the protrusion (20, 32) is spaced away from the first portion (12).
The invention relates to a torque-limiting nut (1) for a break-off bolt (24), especially for an electric connector (38), the torque-limiting nut (1) comprising a thread section (2) and a head section (4) which are separated by a predetermined breaking area (6), wherein the thread section (2) comprises an internal thread (8) and the head section (4) comprises at least one abutment shoulder (10) extending further towards the radial inward direction than the internal thread (8), the at least one abutment shoulder (10) being arranged adjoining to the predetermined breaking area (6). Therefore, the break-off bolt (24) may easily be installed in the connector (38) without the necessity of specialised tools, such as a torque wrench.
