Abstract

The present invention relates to improvements in suspension systems for pocket doors. In particular there is provided a system comprising a pair of re-circulating ball sliding support assemblies, a pair of hinges, and a synchronising mechanism for synchronising movement of the pocket door relative to the pair of re-circulating ball sliding support assemblies. There is also provided a system comprising three ball sliding support assemblies, three hinges, and a synchronising mechanism for synchronising movement of the pocket door relative to the ball sliding support assemblies. There is also provided a system comprising a pair of ball sliding support assemblies, a pair of hinges, a synchronising mechanism for synchronising movement of the pocket door relative to the sliding support assemblies, and a means for aligning the sliding support assemblies relative to one another when setting up the synchronising mechanism. There is also provided a sliding support assembly which is resistant to being pulled apart by lateral loads. There is also provided an elongate rail for a sliding support assembly which can be adjusted in length without affecting the ease of mounting another component to the end of the rail.

Abstract

An apparatus including sliding supports and particularly sliding supports having two elongate members of channel section which slide one within the other. The apparatus addresses the problem of using such sliding supports in an orientation where the channels of the elongate members open vertically rather than horizontally. The sliding support preferably includes a damping mechanism for resisting relative sliding movement of the elongate members. The sliding support also preferably includes a mechanism for defining one or more intermediate positions between extended and shortened positions of the sliding support.

Abstract

The present invention relates to sliding support assemblies and particularly sliding supports having two (or more) elongate members, which slide one within the other. The invention addressed the problem of shearing between a pair of such sliding supports used on an article which may be subjected to forces from several directions and which may cause one or both of the supports to jam. The problem is addressed by the arrangement of the elongate members on a sliding support assembly. The invention also provides a locking mechanism for locking an article being supported by the sliding support assembly in place relative to a base of the assembly.
