Abstract
Provided is a method for manufacturing an iron golf club head by forging a single round rod member with a pair of dies to form, as a single piece, a body and a neck into which a shaft is to be inserted. The method includes: a first step of heating the single round rod member into a heated material; a second step of placing the heated material in the pair of dies; and a third step of forging the heated material placed in the pair of dies. In the third step, the heated material is prevented from flowing out from parting surfaces of the respective dies at a sole side of the body in the pair of dies, and the heated material blocked at the sole side in the pair of dies flows toward each of a toe of the body and the neck in the pair of dies.

Abstract
Provided is a method for producing an iron golf club head (10) by integrally forge-molding, from a single rod-like member using a pair of metal dies (60), a body (12) constituting a ball striking section and a neck (11) into which a shaft is inserted, the method being characterized by comprising: a first step for obtaining a heated material by heating the single rod-like member; a second step for disposing the heated material in the pair of metal dies (60); and a third step for forge-processing the heated material disposed in the pair of metal dies (60), wherein the heated material is prevented from flowing out of a sole-side division surface of the body in the pair of metal dies (60) so as to allow the heated material being stemmed at the sole side in the pair of metal dies (60) to flow in the respective directions of the toe-side and the neck-side of the body in the pair of metal dies (60).

Abstract
In an iron golf club head with a face portion and a neck portion integrally molded by forging, the iron golf club head is made of an iron steel material at least containing 0.30% by weight or less of carbon and 0.0005% by weight to 0.003% by weight of boron. The face portion has been subjected to quenching processing.
