Abstract

A bag includes a body with a closed and stepped end, and an opening in the closed end as a handle. A tube having a first panel, a second panel and two side gussets is provided. The tube is foldable inward along a longitudinal fold line on each of the two side gussets. A stepped end is formed. The first panel has a first longitudinal length, the two side gussets have at least one portion having a second longitudinal length, which is longer than the first longitudinal length and shorter than a length of the second panel. The second panel of the tube is folded along a latitudinal fold line between the top line of the first panel and the top line of the tube so as to form the closed end. The opening is cut in the closed end.

Abstract

An easy-open wrapper (100) includes a sheet (102) having a heat sealable, polymeric material surface and a foldable end flap (120), wherein the end flap (120) has a heat activated sealant (144, 144a, 144b) thereon for bonding to the polymeric material surface and holding the end flap folded. The sealant (144, 144a, 144b) has a tear strength or adhesive bond strength, or both, less than that of the polymeric material surface to unfold the end flap (120) by tearing or de-bonding the sealant (144, 144a, 144b) without tearing or de-bonding the polymeric material surface. An overlap seam (302) of the sheet 102, 104 is sealed by heat activation of the polymeric material surface. Another end flap (138) is held by heat activation of the polymeric material surface or by additional sealant (144, 144a, 144b).

Abstract

A package is fabricated with a first polymer film having reverse printed matter thereon, a second polymer film laminated to the first polymer film to provide a composite, wherein the printed matter is between the first and second polymer films, and a woven bag enclosed by the composite, wherein the second polymer film of the composite isolates the printed matter from cross contamination with contents intended for the woven bag.

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a package with a folded handle and methods for making the same. The invention includes a package including a front panel joined at respective opposite side edges to a rear panel to form a package having an interior and an exterior. The package has a folded handle formed by folding a plurality of marginal portions of the package in the direction of the front panel and joining at least one of the marginal portions to the front panel substantially along a seam extending transversely across the package, though not along at least one non-joined portion provided along the seam. The non-joined portion or portions of the seam provide access to at least one pocket defined by the at least one marginal portion and the front panel. The pocket or pockets can receive a user's hand or hands so the user can grip the package.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a multi-layered composite bag used to store bulk type products such as pet food, seeds, fertilizer, cereals, grains, charcoal, sand, gravel, and other bulk products, including without limitation bulk products intended for human and non- human consumption, and provides a more efficient manufacturing process than using a paper/plastic structure. The present invention provides a bag [10] comprising a middle layer of woven mesh tubing [20] to which an outer layer of solid plastic film [30] is adhered using polypropylene or other polylaminates [40].
