Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method of manufacturing a filter, wherein the filter comprises a filter body formed of a porous filtration material and a plastic support structure, the method including performing a first additive manufacturing step to form an initial portion of the support structure; positioning filtration material above or on the initial portion; performing a second additive manufacturing step to form a secondary portion of the support structure such that the filtration material is between the initial and secondary portions. Additionally, the filter body can be enclosed by positioning a first portion of the filtration material to overlay a second portion of the filtration material; and connecting the first portion of the filtration material to the second portion of the filtration material to define a pocket within the filter body, the support structure configured to maintain spacing between the first and second portions of the filtration material.

Abstract

A sock style filter is disclosed that incorporates the embossing of filtration media to create rigid raised geometry embodiments that prevent collapse between the upper and lower filtration media sides of the filter to maintain and ensure a flow passage of fluid inside the filter for flow to the pump or downstream system. The embossed rigid embodiments keep the filtration media from collapsing under suction and eliminates the use of secondary inserted structures; such as a plastic comb or folded net, or injection mold plastic ribs or bones onto or around the filtration media.

Abstract

A fuel delivery module is located inside a fuel tank and supplies fuel from the fuel tank to the engine. An in-tank suction fluid filter has a filter body made of combination material layers with porous material and filtration material. An in-tank suction fuel filter functions to filter the fuel and holds a reservoir of fuel for supplying to the fuel pump. The in-tank suction fuel filter acts as the reservoir cavity needed to have a constant supply of filtered fuel available to the fuel pump. The in-tank suction fuel filter has a freeform body that can move upward or downward with thermal expansion of the fuel while maintaining constant contact with the bottom of the fuel tank.

Abstract

A vent and exhaust device for a container within which an overpressure of gas can be created during use, such as a battery for a vehicle. The device having a hollow body, suited to being arranged on an opening of such container with internal cavity, closed but communicating with the outside and with a passage connected to the inside of the container from which the gas that forms in the latter can pass to escape to the outside of the aforesaid body. There being placed on such passage a filter element permeable to such gas. Such filter element is subject to pressure placed in such cavity and suited to pushing it in the position of interception of the passage, but allowing the momentary opening of the latter for a venting of the gas when the pressure exceeds a predetermined value.

Abstract

A filter has an elongated filter envelope with an inner pocket containing filter material and configured to receive fluid filtered by the filter envelope. The filter envelope has a bent position defined by a port portion and a loop portion, the loop portion and the port portion overlapping each other at least partially. A port is attached to the filter envelope proximate the port end and is configured to be connected to a hydraulic device and to allow fluid to be released from the pocket. The filter envelope has a periphery with a sealed rim and a slit splitting a portion of the rim so as to form a flexible retention element unitarily attached to the loop portion of the filter envelope. The retention element is positioned around one of the port and the port portion of the filter envelope to retain the filter envelope in the bent position.

Abstract

An air filter (1) particularly for use in a ventilator device for assisting respiratory function comprises: (i) a housing (3) with an air inlet (4) and an air outlet (6), and (ii) a filter material (8) in the path of air flow from the inlet (4) to the outlet (6). The filter material (8) is formed as a tubular body located at one of its ends around the air outlet (6) and being blanked (13) at its end opposite the air outlet (6). The air filter (1) further incorporates an electrostatically charged material (10) positioned at the blanked end (13) of the tubular body (8) to treat inlet air to the housing (3). This improves the life of the filter.

Abstract

A filtration media that incorporates a static dissipative media layer for dissipating the static charge that builds up as a fluid, such a fuel, passes through the filtration media. The filtration media includes a filter media suitable for filtering fluid, and a static dissipative media layer. The static dissipative media layer has a surface resistivity level that is sufficient to classify the media layer as static dissipative rather than conductive.

Abstract

A device for regulating the flow rate of a medical liquid includes a body provided with elements associated with corresponding parts connected together but torsionally free, at least one of the parts including a plurality of recesses acting as flow regulator able to modify the flow rate of the liquid directed towards the patient by rotating the parts about a common axis of rotation. Between the parts a seal element enables the recesses to be selectively connected together via communication elements, so achieving flow rate regulation. Transverse sealers are provided between the seal element and at least the second part of the parts which are interconnected but torsionally free. The transverse sealers preventing the escape of liquid from the recesses and from the body of the device following a relative movement or misalignment between the parts in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation or along this latter during flow regulation or following any angular misalignment of the parts relative to the axis.
