Abstract
An exemplary pipeline pig tracking and locator system includes a low frequency electromagnetic receiver in communication with a control circuit to communicate a received low frequency electromagnetic signal to the control circuit, where the control circuit is configured to transform the received low frequency electromagnetic signal to an audible frequency signal; and a speaker in communication with the control circuit to output the audible frequency signal. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to a method for locating a pipeline pig in a pipeline by utilizing the systems of the present disclosure.
IPC Classes ?
- F16L 55/48 - Indicating the position of the pig or mole in the pipe or conduit
- G01S 3/00 - Direction-finders for determining the direction from which infrasonic, sonic, ultrasonic, or electromagnetic waves, or particle emission, not having a directional significance, are being received
