Abstract

The invention relates to a packaging foil comprising two aluminum foils which are adhesively bonded to one another over the full surface thereof by means of an adhesive. The aim of the invention is to obtain both an excellent dead-fold behavior and an excellent puncture resistance. This aim is achieved in that the adhesive forms, in the dried/hardened state, a layer which has a percentage elongation of at least 380%, preferably over 450% and particularly preferably over 500%. The adhesive preferably has an aqueous dispersion of a polymer based polyurethane, to which a thickening agent is added.

Abstract

The invention relates to a composite material at least having a substrate and a polyolefin layer. The polyolefin layer has at least one optically detectable marking which covers a geometric region of the surface. The invention is characterized in that the geometric region of the marking has undergone a different thermal treatment, preferably a cooling treatment, than the geometric surrounding region. The thermal treatment is preferably carried out in that the polyolefin layer is applied onto the substrate using an extrusion coating method and is cooled by being contacted with a cooling roller. A pressing roller contacts the substrate on the side opposite the cooling roller, and the pressing roller has the marking in the form of depressions or recesses, elevations, or inserts made of a material with a worse or better thermal conductivity coefficient than the surroundings or a combination thereof.

Abstract

The invention relates to a printing ink for direct contact with foodstuffs, in particular for application to metal or metallized surfaces and in particular for packaging materials for foodstuffs, comprising a lacquer and a pigment preparation, wherein 5-20 wt.% pigment preparation and 80-95 wt.% lacquer are present. According to the invention, in order to convey a metallic impression, the pigment preparation contains planar rod-shaped iron oxide pigments with dimensions of 0.08 μm to 0.75 μm (each ±5%) and a thickness of approximately 0.05 μm (±10%), wherein less than 5% of the pigments are greater than stated. Small, planar rod-shaped pigments of this kind surprisingly do not cover the substrate, but allow the lacquer its transparency and thus cause the desired optical impression.

Abstract

The invention relates to a two-layer circuit board (1), the edge region of which is intended to be sealed to the edge of a container, adhesive being between the two layers, wherein the upper, outer layer has at least one line of weakness (5) or one line of intersection, by way of which a grip tab is formed therein. In order to simplify production and handling, the adhesive, according to the invention, is applied in at least two lateral regions (2) of the surface of the circuit board, and in the region therebetween, a strip (4) extending from the edge (7) of the circuit board to the opposite edge (V) of the circuit board is free of adhesive. The line of weakness (5) or the line of intersection in this region is wave-shaped or zigzag-shaped and extends from the edge (7) to the opposite edge (7). Subject to the ratio of adhesive strength to seal strength, it is thus optionally possible to either peel off the entire circuit board or to rip open the circuit board, at least in the edge region.

Abstract

The aim of the invention is being able to set the flexural stiffness of a composite material having at least two layers (2, 3) joined by means of a laminating agent. This aim is achieved in that a mixture of a first, curing glue and a second, non-curing glue is used as a laminating agent, wherein the flexural stiffness (B) of the composite material (1) is set by means of the mixture ratio (M) of the two glues.

Abstract

Method for producing an aluminum foil with integrated security features. An aluminum foil is rolled down to a thickness of less than 150 μm in a plurality of cold rolling passes, texturing that runs in the direction of rolling being induced simultaneously on both surface sides of the foil. In a final cold rolling pass, the foil is fed to a working roller pair, in which, on at least one roller surface, the relief-like surface structuring generated in the rolling direction by grinding was reduced on the basis of contrast and motif in a region of 10 to 50% relative to the average surface roughness to form a motif for a security feature that is transferred to the surface side of the foil facing the roller surface. The generated aluminum foil has a glossy appearance on both sides such that the security feature rises clearly due to its dull appearance.

Abstract

The invention proposes a laser ultrasound method for a simple, secure, fast and reliable determination of the layer thickness a the connecting layer between two layers of a package, in which method the transit time of the ultrasound wave through the first and second packaging layers (2, 3) is determined in advance and a maximum (M1, M2, Mn) in the measurement signal (S) is sought. The time of the appearance of this maximum (M1, M2, Mn) is determined as a total transit time (T1, T2, Tn) of the ultrasound wave, the transit time of the ultrasound wave through the first and second packaging layers (2, 3) is subtracted from the total transit time (T1, T2, Tn) and an inference of the connecting layer thickness (d) is drawn from the known ultrasound speed (vs) in the connecting layer (5).

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing an aluminum foil (1) and to an aluminum foil with integrated security features (6). An aluminum foil (4) is rolled to a thickness of less than 150 μm in multiple cold rolling passes, and simultaneously a texture (5a, 5b) which runs in the rolling direction is produced on both faces (4a, 4b) of the aluminum foil. A loose composite (8) is formed from at least two of said aluminum foils (4), and the composite is fed into a pair of working rollers (9) in a final cold rolling pass, wherein the relief-like surface structure (11a) which is produced in the rolling direction by means of a polishing process has been reduced by 10 to 50% with respect to the average roughness height in one region (6') in a contrast- and motif-dependent manner on at least one roller surface (11) in order to form a motif for a security feature (6). The security feature is transferred onto the aluminum foil face (2a) that faces the roller surface, and the loose composite (8) of aluminum foils (1, 4') is then separated.
