Abstract

A rotary scrubber system having an improved driver disk adapted to facilitate downward dispersion of a cleaning or treatment solution to the interior of an underlying brush or textile pad structure. The driver disk has an annular construction with a raised central hub extending upwardly from a first side. A raised fluid containment wall is disposed in spaced-apart surrounding outboard relation to the central hub. A depressed annular fluid receiving zone is disposed between the central hub and the fluid containment wall. The fluid receiving zone is adapted to receive a flow of cleaning or treatment fluid. A plurality of drain openings is disposed within the fluid receiving zone. The drain openings are in fluid communication with hollow nipples extending downwardly away from a second side of the driver disk facing away from the first side. The hollow nipples include interior channels adapted to transfer fluid away from said drain openings. A fibrous felt connector pad may be mounted across the second side of the driver disk with openings adapted to receive the hollow nipples in mating relationship.

Abstract

A mop system incorporating an arrangement of sliding pins which can be extended to blocking positions against surfaces of rotatable wings. When the pins are in the extended blocking state, they prevent distal wing portions from rotating downwardly. The pins may be normally biased to an inward withdrawn position such that an applied force is required to establish and maintain the blocking position. Actuating force may be applied by a wedge or other pushing structure to urge the pins outwardly such that removal of the wedge or other pushing structure causes the pins to move inwardly. The wedge or other pushing structure may be normally biased to the engagement position and may be displaced from that engagement position using a suitable transmission arrangement that can be activated by a user from the handle.

Abstract

A mop tool incorporating an attachment frame which can be pressed into place in locking relation across a disposable mop head backer plate. The attachment mechanism is releasable following use by a suitable technique such that the mop head can thereby be disengaged from the attachment frame without any need for the user to touch the mop head. The attachment frame may be pressed against a raised or depressed center zone on the backer plate thereby causing camming arms to rotate and moving operatively connected outboard rail members to a locked position. When detachment is desired, the prior rotation may be reversed thereby releasing the rail members such that the mop head can fall away.

Abstract

A pad assembly having an easily removable/replaceable surface cleaning textile material incorporating low denier fiber constituents held in a hook and loop type engagement with a nonwoven fiber connector pad disposed between the cleaning textile material and a rotating scrubber driver. The surface cleaning textile material contacts the floor during use while the connector pad provides structural integrity and operatively connects to the scrubber driver apparatus. The surface cleaning textile material is held in place across the intermediate connector pad using the gripping behavior between the textile material and an irregular surface of the connector pad. The friction in pure shear is extremely high while the peel strength between the surface cleaning textile material and connector pad may be relatively low to facilitate removal and replacement of the surface cleaning textile material after use.

Abstract

A wipe dispensing system including a wall-mountable dispenser adapted to clamp a bag of wipes and optional saturating fluid in place in hanging relation below the dispenser such that no additional support structure is required. The mounting locations can be selected to provide access at varying heights directly against a wall without relying on a shelf thereby promoting availability to wheelchair users. Moreover, very little space is required since the bags hang down against the support wall thereby maintaining a relatively small outwardly projecting profile.

Abstract

A mop head with a structural base and a resilient, compressible cover defining an internal void volume forming a reservoir that can be at least partially filled with a cleaning liquid through a surface opening in the cover. The structural base includes one or more liquid discharge channels which are normally closed off by spring-biased stopper members to prevent discharge of the cleaning liquid. The cleaning liquid may be selectively discharged by application of compressing force against the cover during use. The application of such compressing force displaces the stopper members thereby opening the liquid discharge channels and permitting the cleaning liquid to flow outwardly through the discharge channels and away from the mop head.

Abstract

In one embodiment, a disinfectant composition includes a peroxide, a peracid, an anionic surfactant, a nonionic polymer, and one or both of a linear fatty alcohol and an alkyl pyrrolidone. The disinfectants provide greater killing rates for microbial populations in short periods of time, and therefore can be considered to be fast-acting disinfectants.

Abstract

A containment package for presaturated wiper sheets including a substantially liquid and vapor impermeable body having an interior adapted to receive and store a plurality of wiper sheets presaturated with a solution subject to evaporation. The body includes an access opening adapted for insertion and withdrawal of the wiper sheets through the access opening. At least a first sealing element defining a magnet is supported on a first support structure at a position outside of the interior. At least a second sealing element with magnetic attraction to the first sealing element is disposed on a second support structure at a position outside of the interior. The second support structure is selectively moveable relative to the first support structure to open and close the access opening such that with the first support structure disposed in contacting, opposing relation to the second support structure, the sealing elements will act through the first support structure and the second support structure to cooperatively form a magnetic seal so as to reversibly seal the access opening in a closed condition. A method of packaging presaturated wiper sheets is also provided.

Abstract

A disinfectant wet wipe that contains a germicidal solution and a nonwoven web material is provided. The germicidal solution includes a peracid and peroxide, which can act synergistically together to be efficacious against pathogens when exposed thereto. To stabilize the solution over a period of time (e.g., during storage), a variety of aspects of the wipe are selectively controlled in accordance with the present invention. For example, the nonwoven web material used in the wipe is formed from a synthetic polymer and is relatively hydrophobic in nature. Without intending to be limited by theory, it is believed that such materials possess a lower reduction potential for peroxides/peracids than cellulosic-based materials. In this manner, significant degradation of the peroxide or peracid contained in the germicidal solution is limited. To improve the wettability of the nonwoven web material, one or more surfactants are also employed in the germicidal solution. Besides improving wettability, the present inventors have surprisingly discovered that certain surfactants may also improve the stability of the solution.
