Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for creating three-dimensional preforms that includes: - applying continuous fibers on an application surface so as to form a plurality of fiber plies placed one on top of the other in different orientations, each ply being created by applying one or more strips in one orientation and each strip being formed from one or more fibers; and - shaping the set of plies so as to obtain a preform in the final three-dimensional shape thereof. Said application includes creating at least two plies (5, 6) having a same orientation. The fibers of the second ply (6) are partially placed on top of the fibers of the first ply (5) at the end portions thereof so that relative longitudinal movement of the fibers of the second ply in relation to the fibers of the first ply is achieved during shaping so as to create the final shape of the preform.
