While the recipe is in progress, and in response to the user switching to a second device and/or appliance, presenting recipe information on the second device and/or appliance based on the version of the progress and state of the recipe maintained in the recipe framework. The second device or second appliance obtains the version of the progress and state from the recipe framework. The device and appliance user interfaces present a consistent and contextual view of the state of the recipe.
