Abstract

The present invention describes a hydraulic cement composition, process and use thereof, wherein the composition comprises a hydraulic cement composition with increased resistance against carbon dioxide (CO2) for application in reservoirs such as oil and gas and carbon capture and storage (CCS) wells; with improved performance of cement paste formulations as a material for application in primary, secondary cementing, recovery and/or plugging operations, of reservoirs/wells that operate with high CO2 content; as a technological alternative to guarantee the integrity of wells in CO2-rich environments for long periods of time, without any additional intervention to the already current operational procedures for cementing wells, and with cost reduction in relation to class G cement (currently, the main raw material); and sufficient chemical resistance to carry out enhanced oil (EOR) and gas (EGR) recovery by injecting high levels of CO2, increasing reservoir pressure throughout the extraction period of hydrocarbon reservoirs.

Abstract

The present invention describes a method for precisely determining the maximum execution time of a critical task of an embedded system based on a multicore processor. For that purpose, the use of a specific hardware is proposed, with the function of analysing and timing the execution of the task. More specifically, the purpose of the system is to ensure that the maximum response time of the critical function of the program executed by the processor does not exceed a preset limit, and should this critical task not be completed before the limit, the system disables the other processor cores, keeping in operation only the core that is executing the critical task. The specific hardware, which is implemented with a watchdog system, is configured with information relevant to the execution of the critical program in isolation (that is to say, in a processor with a single core), with reduced computational complexity and extreme feasibility, monitoring the execution time of the task without needing to know what is the maximum value of the execution time of this program in an environment with multiple microprocessor cores. The present invention pertains to the fields of eletronics and computer science.

Abstract

The present invention describes a load-transportation vehicle (10) and a packaging and discharge method for such a load-transportation vehicle (10). More specifically, the present invention comprises the installation of an inflatable bag (12) over the floor of a load compartment (11). Said bag (12) is pressurized prior to loading the compartment (11), the pressurization pressure being a function of the density of the load and of the total volume of load to be transported. During loading, the inflatable bag (12) is compressed and flattened, freeing up the useable volume of the compartment (11). Discharge takes place in two steps: first, the material is unloaded under gravity until such time as the pressure inside the bag (12) becomes greater than the pressure on the outer surface thereof; next, the second stage begins, in the course of which the bag (12) expands and guides the material inside the compartment (11) to the unloading areas (15).

The composition of the invention provides preservation while at the same time reducing rejection of an organ, thus offering many advantages and solving various relevant technical problems: not only preserving the useful life of the organ but also initiating a process in the organ which inhibits acute rejection; lengthening the useful life of the organ in vivo; having local immunomodulating effects in the recipient; having an indirect impact on the quality of life of the transplant recipient by necessitating fewer immunossuppressive medications; inducing the activity of regulatory T cells (which are acknowledged to be immunosuppressors), reducing the expression of MHC molecules in the graft, reducing alloreactive expression in the recipient's lymph nodes, and lengthening the survival of the graft in the recipient.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a furnace and method for diffusing dopants into or oxidising wafers made of silicon or another semiconductor material. Said furnace is an apparatus with a non-tubular quartz or SiC processing chamber with a square or rectangular cross-section, depending on the dimensions and number of the silicon wafers. The volume of the chamber is smaller than that of tube furnaces, allowing the consumption of high-purity gases and electricity to be reduced. The system for charging the wafers into and removing the wafers from the processing chamber and for controlling the high-purity gases and temperature is automated. In addition, the present invention describes a method for diffusing dopants into and/or oxidising wafers made of silicon or another semiconductor using the furnace.

Abstract

The present invention describes a new method for manufacturing solar cells from silicon wafers by diffusion of boron (or another p-type dopant) and phosphorus (or another n-type dopant) into these wafers, a silicate layer being used to protect the face containing boron (or another p-type dopant) from the diffusion of phosphorus (or another n-type dopant). The thermal step for growing the silicon oxide layer and the use of a resin for protecting one of the faces while the oxides are etched with hydrofluoric acid are dispensed with. The invention therefore is advantageous in that it dispenses with the use of photosensitive resin, buffering hydrofluoric acid and acetone, and with at least four steps of solar cell manufacturing methods. It thus reduces manpower/hours and the consumption of electricity, high-purity gases and chemicals, thus lowering production costs in comparison with conventional methods.

Abstract

The present invention provides a step of the method for producing solar cells that increases minority carrier lifetime and produces solar cells with increased efficiency. In the process according to the invention, gettering is obtained during aluminium diffusion by a strict control of heating and cooling rates, which are dependent on the diffusion temperature. The result is an increase of the lifetime of the minority carriers in the silicon wafers and an increase in efficiency of the solar cells.

Abstract

The present invention provides a chemical surface cleaning method for textured crystalline silicon wafers, obtained by modifying a standard chemical cleaning method, RCA. In the method according to the invention, chemical cleaning comprises isotropic etching in CP4 etch, followed by immersion of the silicon wafers in the RCA-2 solution. Planarisation increases chemical gettering and does not alter the structure of the micropyramids, since immersion time is short and controlled, of preferably only 10 seconds. Among other technical advantages, the method according to the invention increases by at least 175% the minority carrier lifetime and decreases processing time by approximately 9 minutes.

Abstract

The present invention provides products having resveratrol with high water solubility and nutraceutical and/or phytotherapic compositions having said substances. The processes for obtaining them include the solubility increase of the polyphenol corresponding to a resveratrol compound, preferably trans- resveratrol in water, by its complexation with cyclodextrin under specific conditions that favor thermodynamic equilibrium. The products of the invention present high solubility and purity in aqueous medium, being, therefore, useful to prepare nutraceutical compositions (pharmaceutical and/or alimentary) with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antidiabetics, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, chemoprotective activities; besides protecting against infections and ischemia, reducing obesity, and preventing aging. Phytotherapic compositions useful to the same therapeutical activities, prepared from the complex of resveratrol and cyclodextrin compound, preferably beta- cyclodextrin/trans-resveratrol, are also provided.

Abstract

The present invention provides effective means by which nucleotide sequences of any organism can be used as standards for detection/quantification of these organisms. The reference standards of this invention are particularly useful to perform absolute quantification of nucleotide sequences and/or microorganisms from DNA found in biological samples, biological fluids, food and cosmetics, with the additional use of the Fluorescence-associated Polymerase Chain Reaction (real-time PCR) technique. The applications of the invention include research involving quantification of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA), as well as DNA/RNA of organisms such as viral and bacterial pathogens. Therefore, this invention is useful in diagnosis of infectious diseases, food industry and cosmetic industry. This invention also provides an improved method for detection/quantification of nucleotide sequences and a kit.
