Abstract
The invention relates to a polymerisable mass, comprising a) acrylates and/or methacrylates, b) 0.05 to 70 wt. % SiO2-particles with a mean particle size of 1 to 30 nm, with polymerisable groups of the methacryloyl, acryloyl, styryl, itaconyl, crotonyl, vinyl, allyl and/or alkenyl type on the surface, dispersed in the acrylates and/or methacrylates, wherein the SiO2- particles consist of at least 50% of individual non-aggregated or agglomerated primary particles and c) a maximum of 2 wt. % cross-linking molecules.

Abstract
The invention relates to a composition, containing at least one plasticizer and silicon dioxide particles with an average particle size of 150 nm or smaller. According to the invention, the proportion of silicon dioxide particles is 10 to 80% by weight, and the proportion of plasticizer is 90 to 20% by weight. The sum of the silicon dioxide particle and plasticizer fractions is at least 80% by weight. The invention enables nanoparticles to be mixed easily into any polymer materials.

Abstract
The object of the invention is a method for the production of a nano-scale silicon dioxide, said method comprising the following steps: a) provision of an aqueous suspension of a colloidal silicon dioxide with an average particle size of 1 to 500 nm; b) allowing said suspension to react with an organosilane or organosiloxane in an aprotic cyclic ether and silanization of the colloidal silicon dioxide; c) separation of the aqueous phase of the reaction mixture from the organic phase; d) allowing the organic phase to react again with an organosilane or organosiloxane in an aprotic cyclic ether and silanization of the colloidal silicon dioxide; e) separation of the aqueous phase of the reaction mixture from the organic phase.
