Abstract
The invention relates to a device for measuring the height of piles of a substance in railway environments and to the associated measuring method. The device comprises: a load cell (2); a presence detector (3) comprising at least two presence sensors (3’) located on the same vertical plane at different heights and configured to activate when they detect the presence of the substance; and processing means (5) configured to calculate a first height of the pile of the substance on the basis of the weight measured by the load cell (2) and a second height on the basis of a reading from the presence detectors (3). The processing means are configured to select the first height as the height of piles of the substance if there is coherence between the first and the second height, and to select the second height as the height of the piles of the substance if there is incoherence between the first and the second height.

Abstract
The invention uses the power of electrical sub-stations (2) that power a network of catenaries (1) and the braking energy that the trains transmit to the network of catenaries (1), for the mass power supply of equipment for charging vehicle batteries (8) from the catenary (1), from an energy storage device (5), or from both, according to the power required by the equipment (8), the power stored in the device (5), and the power of the catenary (1), as long as the catenary power required by the trains is supplied. The invention also enables the device (5) to be charged when the power required by the equipment (8) is less than that of the catenary (1), without affecting the rail service.

Abstract
The invention automates the management of traditional telephone messages used to request operations relating to the interruption/connection of an area of an electric line in order for line maintenance, repairs or alterations to be made. The invention comprises a remote power control centre that communicates with portable devices (2) which are each assigned to at least one maintenance operator and which are used for the transmission of a telephone message based on the information stored in the remote control centre (1) in which the different events that occurred during the request are managed and stored. The operations requested in the telephone message are transmitted from the centre (1) to the installation (14) of the electric line in order to be implemented. The centre can be used to manage blocks relating to the interruption/connection elements of the installations (14) of the electric line and the centre also allows maintenance operators to check the state of said interruption/connection elements via the above-mentioned portable devices (2).

Abstract
The invention relates to a sensor for detecting deformation of meshes for retaining objects to protect railway lines, said sensor being applicable to meshes fitted with two fibre-optic lines included in as many communication circuits that detect breaks in the optical figure as a result of deformation of the mesh. Said sensor comprises a casing that is attached to the mesh, is crossed by the optical fibres, and includes two parallel strip provided with two conical apertures, between which are attached, by as many setting elements, two pulls arranged in different directions, and fitted with an aperture located in front of one of the pairs of conical apertures which enable the passage of each optical fibre through each group of three opposing apertures, breaking the fibre, when pulling with a force greater than the force set, of the pulls that are connected to the mesh and to a tensioner (4a) thereof.

Abstract
Dual gauge-changing device on single platform. It permits the change of gauge for two different technologies as are TALGO and CAF, in a single platform provided in a pit (6), forming part of which are a set of sliding guides (9), displacement check rails (12) and bolt activation guides (5), usable with both types of train when being located in the corresponding positions. The displacement check rails (12) are fixed to a bracket column (13) emerging from the bottom of the pit (6). The sliding guides (9) and the bolt activation guides (5) are provided on some moving bedframes (10) displaceable in the transverse direction and in turn fixed on two support pieces (7) arranged on hydraulic cylinders (8) anchored to the bottom of the pit (6). The sliding guides (9) are mounted with the mediation of other hydraulic cylinders (11 ) which rest on the moving bedframes (10).

Abstract
The method is based on applying a vertical force (F) in the centre (P) of a first section (A-B) of the rail (1) of a railway, and measuring the displacement thereof in order to represent the graph corresponding to the force applied-displacement and calculating the gradient of the straight line defined by said graph, thereby obtaining the longitudinal tension of the rail (1), in equivalent centigrade degrees. The method also comprises calculating the temperature of the free effort of the rail (1) by adding the value of the rail temperature to the calculated longitudinal tension. The method avoids having to cut the rail (1), and so simplifies measurements and reduces costs. The invention also concerns an apparatus for acting according to the described method.
