Abstract

The present invention is directed to a horizontal band saw machine capable of efficiently severing H-beams without a trouble of saw blade's pinching in the kerf. In the horizontal band saw machine, a saw blade (21) can sever one of flanges 20a that has been cut first in an H-beam (20), completely from top to bottom, prior to approaching the center of a web 20b and its vicinity.

Abstract

Under a state in which a long material (structural steel (A)) is sandwiched by pinch rollers (drive roller (21) and idle rollers (22)) of a pinch roller apparatus (20), the drive roller (21) is driven to rotate, and the structural steel (A) is conveyed forward. When a rear end portion of the structural steel (A) reaches a vicinity of the pinch roller apparatus (20), the rear end portion of the structural steel (A) is held by a holding portion (32) provided at a front end portion of a feed bar (36) of a feed bar device (30), and the feed bar (36) is caused to slide toward a working machine. Consequently, the structural steel (A) is conveyed forward through the pinch roller apparatus (20) and is positioned.

Abstract

A hybrid heat treatment device is used to temper a workpiece (W) and has a horizontal conveyor (20) extended to pass through a furnace (2) and conveying the workpiece (W), a temperature raising zone (40) placed in the furnace (2) and having far-infrared heaters (46) for quickly raising the temperature of the workpiece (W) up to its tempering temperature, and a keep-warm zone (42) placed adjacent to the temperature raising zone (40) on its downstream side and maintaining the workpiece (W) at the tempering temperature. The keep-warm zone (42) has a warm air outlet duct (62) placed below the conveyor (20) and blowing warm air to the workpiece (W), and also has a warm air suction duct (66) placed above the conveyor (20) and sucking warm air in the keep-warm zone (42).
