Abstract
A silicate-containing luminescent material which can be excited by the light source ranging from UV to green region, especially useful for white and multi-colour light-emitting device and its making method are disclosed. The luminescent material can emit the light from blue to red, and its common formula is aMO•bM'O•SiO2•cR: xEu• yLn•z Lv•&dgr;Lm, wherein, M is one or more kinds of elements selected from Sr, Ca, Ba and Zn; M' is one or more kinds of elements selected from Mg, Cd and Be; R is one or two components selected from B2O3 and P2O5; Ln is one or more kinds of elements selected from Nd, Dy, Ho, Tm, La, Ce, Er, Pr, Bi, Sm, Sn, Y, Lu, Ga, Sb, Tb, Mn and Pb; Lv is one or more kinds of elements selected from Cl, F, Br, I, S; Lm is one or more kinds of elements selected from Li, Na and K.

Long-afterglow luminescent material is represented by the formula aMO.bM’(S&bgr;Se1-&bgr;).cAl2O3.dB2O3.eP2O5:xEu.yLn, wherein M is one or more elements selected from Sr, Ca, Ba, and Mg, M’ is one or more elements selected from Sr, Ca, and Ba, Ln is one or more elements selected from Nd, Dy, Tm, La, Ce, and Pr, a, b, c, d, e, x, y is molar number respectively, 0.5ឬaឬ6.0, 0.0001≤b≤2.0, 0.5≤c≤9.0, 0≤d ≤1.0, 0≤e≤1.0, 0.00001≤x≤0.25, 0.00001≤y≤0.3, 0≤&bgr;≤1.0, wherein 0.5ឬ(a+b) ≤6.0, 0≤(d+e) ≤1.0. The preparation method is solid phase reaction at high temperature by firstly oxidation and then reduction.
