The invention relates to a rotary carousel for angularly moving a platform, depending in particular on the equipment placed on this carousel, on the environment in which it is used, and on the employed methods in which it is used. A particular application of the invention is in the field of casting, in which carousels are used in which the platform sections are equipped with moulds that receive a liquid metal for manufacturing moulded parts. The carousel has a central axis (10) and comprises a platform (1) and means (4, 4a) for driving the platform in rotation about the central axis. This platform (1) comprises a plurality of radial sections (2) that form separate satellites (2) that are at least partially free from one another in terms of roll, pitch and ascension. The means (4, 4a) for driving the platform comprise at least one off-centre driving means (4, 4a) connected to a single satellite (2) and able to directly drive this satellite (2) in rotation about the central axis (10).
