Abstract

A system and method for delivering materials for deposition is described. The system includes reservoirs for holding materials, heating elements for liquefying the materials (unless they are to be delivered as solids). Once in a desired state, pressure and material delivery systems to move the materials to a deposition nozzle. In the deposition nozzle, or thereabouts, the materials combine and are prepared to be deposited. An agitation element is used to break up the material and push it out of the nozzle tip in an atomized or droplet form. Changes in the material composition/concentration result in adjustment in heat, pressure or deposition agitation.

Abstract

An advanced multi-material capable deposition apparatus, system and method is described. The deposition apparatus and system include a print nozzle and material delivery path to deposit material of varying characteristics. An extrusion system processes the material under while controlling material and system variables based on sensor feedback to ensure a desired print. An actuation mechanism is used to control deposition of the material from the nozzle. A controller adjusts operational variables based on designed and measured material characteristics including print settings and environmental variables to precisely deposit the material in the form of an object.

Abstract

An atomized, functionally graded multi-material capable deposition apparatus, system and method is described. The deposition apparatus and system include a print nozzle and material delivery path to deposit material of varying characteristics. An internal chamber within the print nozzle receives the material under pressure and temperature control. An actuation mechanism within the print nozzle is used to control deposition of the material from the nozzle. A controller adjusts the temperature, pressure and actuation frequency based on material characteristics and print settings to precisely deposit the material in the form of an object.
