Abstract
One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a medical apparatus for dermatological treatment using a treatment beam. The medical apparatus comprises a light source module for creating light radiation, a radiation-delivery device for directing the light radiation as a treatment beam onto a target area of a surface of skin to be treated, and a contactless temperature sensor for measuring a skin temperature of a skin surface corresponding to the target area, the contactless temperature sensor having a field of view defining a measurement area of the skin surface. The medical apparatus is configured to be operated in a plurality of modes of operation for performing respective types of dermatological treatment, wherein the field of view of the contactless temperature sensor is adjustable and wherein the medial apparatus further comprises a control unit configured to adjust the field of view responsive to a current mode of operation of the medical apparatus.

Abstract
A medical laser system including a first laser source having a first gain medium for generating a first optical field. The system further includes a first Q-switch controlling a resonance quality of the first laser source, a control circuit controlling the first Q-switch to cause the first laser source to generate the first optical field as a first pulse train of laser pulses, a second laser source for generating a second optical field as a second pulse train of laser pulses, a nonlinear medium for generating a third optical field by a nonlinear interaction between the first optical field and the second optical field, and a sensor detecting a property of at least one of the optical fields. The control circuit controls operation of the first Q-switch so as to adjust a relative timing of the laser pulses of the first pulse train and the laser pulses of the second pulse train responsive to the detected property.

Abstract
High-power sum frequency generator system comprising: - at least a first electromagnetic source such as a laser for generating a first fundamental field and a second fundamental field emitted along a propagation path, and - a first nonlinear component and a second nonlinear component arranged in series along the propagation path, wherein: - the first nonlinear component is adapted for generating a first sum frequency field from the first fundamental field and the second fundamental field, the first sum frequency field having a first polarization, - the second nonlinear component is adapted for generating a second sum frequency field from the first and second incident fundamental fields, the second sum frequency field having a second polarization, - the first and second sum frequency fields both propagating along the propagation path, and wherein - the system has an output comprising the first sum frequency field and the second sum frequency field, and wherein a direction of the first polarization forms a mutual angle with a direction of the second polarization such that the two polarizations are non- parallel.
