Disclosed is an insert block for a composite polymer/fibre section. The insert block is formed from a high-density polymer and is configured such that, in use, the insert block is able to closely interface with at least two opposing walls of the composite polymer/fibre section. The insert block is also configured such that it is able to substantially fill a hollow space defined between the at least two opposing walls of the composite polymer/fibre section. In use, when a force is applied to the adjacent portion of the composite polymer/fibre section, the force is able to transfer into the insert block.
A panel is disclosed for use in construction. The panel comprises opposing surfaces that extend between first and second opposite ends. The panel also comprises a plurality of parallel (e.g. sawtooth) ridges. The ridges are provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces. The ridges extend along and adjacent to a first of the opposite ends of the panel for at least a part length thereof. The ridges are arranged to engage with and move past corresponding ridges of an adjacent panel when the panels move relative to each other in opposite directions. The ridges are further arranged so as to interfere with the ridges of the adjacent panel to resist relative movement in a reverse of the opposite direction.
E04C 2/36 - Building elements of relatively thin form for the construction of parts of buildings, e.g. sheet materials, slabs, or panels characterised by the shape or structure composed of two or more spaced sheet-like parts spaced apart by transversely-placed strip material, e.g. honeycomb panels
E04C 2/40 - Building elements of relatively thin form for the construction of parts of buildings, e.g. sheet materials, slabs, or panels characterised by the shape or structure composed of a number of smaller components rigidly or movably connected together, e.g. interlocking, hingedly connected
E04B 2/86 - Walls made by casting, pouring, or tamping in situ made in permanent forms
E04H 1/12 - Small buildings or other erections for limited occupation, erected in the open air or arranged in buildings, e.g. kiosks, waiting shelters for bus stops or for filling stations, roofs for railway platforms, watchmen's huts or dressing cubicles
E04B 2/56 - Walls of framework or pillarworkWalls incorporating load-bearing elongated members
E04C 2/00 - Building elements of relatively thin form for the construction of parts of buildings, e.g. sheet materials, slabs, or panels
E04C 2/34 - Building elements of relatively thin form for the construction of parts of buildings, e.g. sheet materials, slabs, or panels characterised by the shape or structure composed of two or more spaced sheet-like parts
E04G 11/06 - Forms, shutterings, or falsework for making walls, floors, ceilings, or roofs for walls, e.g. curved
Disclosed is a nesting element for use in a hollow pile. The nesting element is configured to be retained at an opening defined in a wall of the pile. The nesting element comprises a surface that is configured such that, in use, the surface substantially conforms to an internal profile at a transverse cross-section of the pile. Also disclosed are a pile system that employs one or more nesting elements in one or more respective piles, and an installation system for installing the pile system into the ground. Additionally, a method of constructing a retaining wall using the pile system and installation system is disclosed.
A pin pile is disclosed for anchoring sections of sheet pile to form a wall structure. The pin pile has a casing with a plurality of external clutches formed around the periphery. In use other corresponding clutches on the sections of sheet pile can interlock with the external clutches of the pin pile over a range of angles in accordance with a directional extent of said wall structure.
A panel (6) is disclosed for use in construction. The panel (6) comprises opposing surfaces (6A, 6B) that extend between first and second opposite ends (7A, 7B). The panel (6) also comprises a plurality of parallel (e.g. sawtooth) ridges (7). The ridges (7) are provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces (6A and/or 6B). The ridges (7) extend along and adjacent to a first of the opposite ends (7A or 7B) of the panel for at least a part length thereof. The ridges (7) are arranged to engage with and move past corresponding ridges of an adjacent panel (6) when the panels move relative to each other in opposite directions. The ridges (7) are further arranged so as to interfere with the ridges of the adjacent panel to resist relative movement in a reverse of the opposite direction.
