Abstract Compounds of formula (I): (CH2), - R3 R2 Rio 9 4 CH3 R, R, for use as peripheral NMDA receptor antagonists. Ri is H, halogen, -OH, -CN, (Ci-C6)alkyl, (C2-C6)alkenyl, (Ci-C4)alkoxy, -C(=NH)(-0H), (Ci-C4)alkyl-C(=NH)(-0H), -NH-00- (Ci- C4)alkyl, -NRiiR12, -N+Ri3Ri4Ri5, (C3-C7)cycloalkyl optionally substituted, 5- or 6-membered aryl or a 5- to 12-membered heteroaryl; said aryl or heteroaryl being optionally substituted. R2 represents (Ci-Cio)alkyl, (Ci-C6)alkyl-OH, (C2-C6)alkenyl or (C2-C6)alkynyl group, n is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9 and Rio represent, independently of each other, H, halogen, -OH, -N3, -SCF3, a trifluoromethyl, (Ci-C6)alkyl, (Ci-C6)alkoxy, (Ci- C6)alkyl-OH, - NR11R12, -N+R13R14R16, a 5- or 6-membered aryl or a 5- to 12-membered heteroaryl. R11, Ri4, and Ri5 represent, independently of each other, H or a (Ci-C6)alkyl. X- is an anionic counterion.
