Abstract

In a chair, comprising a seat element (12) having a seat surface, said seat element being supported on at least one chair leg (16), and a backrest (20) that is movably fastened to a pivot arm (22) that can be  pivoted relative to the seat element (12), provision is made that the backrest (20), upon exertion of pressure onto an upper back support surface region (54) performs a deflection movement along a curved path toward the seat element (12).

Abstract

The invention relates to a backrest for a chair, comprising: an external backrest frame (1) that has two backrest frame legs (11, 12); an internal (H-shaped) stretching frame (4) that has two lateral stretching frame legs (41, 42) between which a flexible covering (44) and an extensible and compressible (convex) stretching frame transversal connection (43) are arranged; and at least one hand wheel (6a, 6b) that is disposed externally on a backrest frame leg (11, 12) and is fitted with a threaded bar (61) which extends through the backrest frame leg (11, 12). Said threaded bar (61) allows the adjacent stretching frame leg (41, 42) to be pulled closer such that the stretching frame transversal connection (43) is extended and the flexible covering (44) is stretched while allowing the adjacent stretching frame leg (41, 42) to be moved away such that the stretching frame transversal connection (43) is compressed and the flexible covering (44) is slackened.

Abstract

The invention relates to a chair (1), in particular an office chair, with a backrest (3) which is connected in an articulated manner to a mount (33) by means of a backrest mount (2) and has an adjustable lumbar support (4) and also a seat surface (12) which is attached to the mount (33), so that the inclination position of the backrest (3) and the adjustment position of the lumbar support (4) are coupled to one another by means of a coupling element (10) in such a way that a tilting movement of the backrest (3) towards the rear causes the adjustment position of the lumbar support (4) to change, in particular causes the lumbar support (4) to relax, and a tilting movement of the backrest (3) towards the front likewise causes the adjustment position of the lumbar support (4) to change, in particular causes the lumbar support (4) to tense.

Abstract

The invention cites a chair, in particular an office chair (2), having a backrest (5) articulated on the carrier framework (35) via a backrest carrier (37), and having a seat surface (3) which can be moved synchronously in relation to the backrest and is attached to the carrier framework (35) at a reference point (15) such that it can be pivoted via a seat link (15). The backrest carrier (37) and the seat link (15) are respectively fastened in a rotatable manner on the carrier framework (35), the backrest carrier (37) and the seat surface (3) being coupled to one another at a distance apart for movement, via an individual coupling member arranged between them, such that a rearwardly directed tilting movement of the backrest (5) is converted, at the reference point (15), into an upward pivoting movement of the seat surface (3). Such a design provides for an automatic weight-related mechanism which makes it possible to keep the opposing force exerted by the backrest (5) essentially independent of the absolute inclination.
