Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and the like for preventing or treating peripheral neuropathy, and has been completed by the identification that a diphenyl ether derivative isolated from a marine organism specifically promotes mitophagy activity, and thus can exhibit a peripheral neuropathy treatment effect. Specifically, the compound according to the invention independently promotes mitophagy in the PINK1-Parkin pathway so as to alleviate hyperalgesia, which is a representative symptom of peripheral neuropathy, and can effectively alleviate anti-cancer agent-induced mitochondrial dysfunction of sensory nerves. In particular, the compound of the present invention does not damage mitochondrial function or inhibit cell growth, and thus can be used as a safe therapeutic drug. Therefore, a diphenyl ether derivative according to the present invention has low risk of side effects and enables fundamental treatment of peripheral neuropathy through mitophagy promotion, and thus is expected to be effectively used as a drug for preventing and treating peripheral neuropathy.

More specifically, the device comprises: an unmanned aerial photographing part configured to fly over a river with green algae and acquire a hyperspectral image of the river by using a hyperspectral sensor; a plurality of ground-based photographing parts arranged along the river with green algae and photographing the water surface of the river by using a hyperspectral sensor; a river water sensor part for identifying the water temperature, flow rate, and green algae concentration of the river water at a spot photographed by the ground-based photographing part; a memory part for storing sensing data obtained by the river water sensor part; a data matching part for matching the hyperspectral image acquired by the ground-based photographing part to the sensing data stored in the memory part; and a pre-processing part for aligning the hyperspectral images acquired by the unmanned aerial photographing part and the ground-based photographing part, so as to correct irregular spectra. In addition, according to the present invention, green algae in a river is continuously spectrally photographed to acquire spectroscopic image data while simultaneously identifying information on the water temperature, flow rate, and green algae concentration at the spectroscopically photographed spot, and then the spectroscopic image data and the information are integrated to establish comprehensive information related to river green algae, thereby efficiently managing rivers through established database.

Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a composition containing agents causative of chalkbrood and foulbrood as active ingredients for immune activation in bees. It was found in the present invention that a mixture of heat-killed agents causative of chalkbrood and foulbrood enhances and activates the immune system of bees. It was also found that when fed with a peppermint oil-added mixture of the heat-killed agents causative of chalkbrood and foulbrood, bees increase in weight and showed the upregulated expression of development-related genes. Furthermore, pollen cakes and honey dilutions prepared from a mixture of heat-killed agents causative of chalkbrood and foulbrood increased the survival rate against foulbrood in brood larvae within the bee colony, and thus can be advantageously used for related businesses.

Abstract

In the present invention, differential expression of 23 genes has been identified, which are GATA3, FOXA1, RASSF5, PTPN6, TRNP1, APOBEC3D, APOBEC3G, ABL1, ABL2, CACNA2D1, JUN, GNG4, NGF, MYC, MAP4K4, STC1, FOXD1, FOXC2, TGFB1, TGFB3, NOG, SMAD9, and NT5E, and it has been confirmed that expression of the 23 genes correlates with the prognosis and survival of bladder cancer patients and thus can be used as biomarkers for diagnosing anticancer drug-resistant bladder cancer, or predicting metastasis or making a prognosis thereof. In addition, it has been confirmed that, as a bladder cancer cell line acquires resistance, the ability for tumor infiltration and migration increases and the resistance to an anticancer drug also increases, and that the 23 genes are differentially expressed as a bladder cancer cell line acquires resistance to an anticancer drug. Further, it has been confirmed that, upon administration of an anticancer drug-resistant bladder cancer cell line to mice, the ability for tumor proliferation and metastasis increases, and that the expression of the 23 genes also increases in a mouse tumor. As such, the present invention is effective in making a diagnosis, prognosis, or metastasis prediction of cancer and also exhibits an excellent effect in diagnosing anticancer drug-resistant cancer, and thus would be useful in related industries.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an animal model of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease caused by K141N or K141T mutations in HSPB8. In this animal model expressing the K141N or K141T mutant HSPB8 protein, symptoms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, such as motor deficit, mitochondrial dysfunction, and reduced levels of mitophagy, were observed, confirming that Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease can be induced by K141N or K141T mutations in the HSPB8 protein. Therefore, the animal model expressing the K141N or K141T mutant HSPB8 protein can be used as an animal model of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The symptoms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease were significantly reduced by the expression and activation of PINK1 or Parkin, so that the animal model can be used in therapeutic applications for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

Abstract

The present invention relates to novel isoquinoline derivatives. The derivatives have an effect of promoting mitophagy activity, thereby reducing mitochondria with structural and/or functional damage. In particular, the novel isoquinoline derivatives according to the present invention do not induce mitochondrial dysfunction and have been identified as safe compounds that are non-toxic to cells, and thus can be utilized for the prevention, amelioration, and/or treatment of various diseases that may be caused by abnormal mitochondria.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an Interferon Gamma Inducible Protein 16 (IFI16) mutant gene as a marker for predicting, diagnosing, or prognosing the risk of chronic liver disease, and a use thereof. In the present invention, it was found from the genomic analysis performed on NAFLD and NASH patient groups that the frequency of IFI16 single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) including rs2276404, rs73021847, rs7532207, and rs6940 increased. Additionally, an increase in the expression of the IFI16 mutant gene was confirmed according to the stages of liver disease. Furthermore, it was found in the present invention that IFI16 SNVs were significantly expressed in infiltrated macrophages and played a crucial role in the macrophage-induced inflammatory process. The IFI16 mutants were observed to bind more strongly to dsDNA than wild-type IFI16, exacerbating the damage signal of the mitochondrial DNA detection response in the IFI16-PYCARD-CASP1 pathway. Therefore, the IFI16 mutant gene of the present invention can be advantageously utilized for predicting, diagnosing, or prognosing the risk of chronic liver disease.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a flow control valve. The flow control valve comprises: a casing having an inlet and an outlet which are open in opposite directions and allow the passage of a fluid, and closed chambers which are provided between the inlet and the outlet and face each other at a distance from each other; a pair of disk pieces, each having a semicircular shape, which stand by while being accommodated in the respective closed chambers and, upon operation, move into a flow path between the inlet and the outlet and join each other, thereby blocking the flow of the fluid; a pair of rotary arms which are fixed to the respective disk pieces and extended to the outside of the casing and intersect with each other; a center pin which is installed in the area of the intersection of the rotary arms and serves the role of a rotation shaft when the rotary arms perform a crossing motion; and a drive part which is connected to extended end parts of the rotary arms and allows the rotary arms to perform the crossing motion, such that the disk pieces join each other and take on the shape of a circular disk, or are separated from each other and retract to the closed chambers.
