Spatial audio signals can include audio objects that can be respectively encoded and rendered at each of multiple different depths. In an example, a method for encoding a spatial audio signal can include receiving audio scene information from an audio capture source in an environment, and receiving a depth characteristic of a first object in the environment. The depth characteristic can be determined using information from a depth sensor. A correlation can be identified between at least a portion of the audio scene information and the first object. The spatial audio signal can be encoded using the portion of the audio scene and the depth characteristic of the first object.

Abstract

Generally disclosed herein is a system and method for correcting an audio spatial image within a vehicle. The gain and the delay of sound sources, such as speakers within a vehicle, are adjusted such that the sound sources arrive at a listener simultaneously and with the same amplitude. Symmetric output channel pairs may be identified from the sound sources, and power spectrum differences between the symmetric output channel pairs may be computed. A power spectrum equalization transfer function may be obtained and applied to each output channel pair. A center image of the sound sources may be detected, and the center image of the sound sources may be adjusted by applying additional amplitude or phase panning such that the center image may be placed in a desired position.

Abstract

Generally disclosed herein is a mechanism to increase the perceived sound field width and depth in an automotive environment without causing excessive or unnatural reverberation. The audio ambiance may be added using a cross-analysis of a vehicle cabin and a typical room's sound decay characteristics. The late reverb insertion and extraction time may be determined from the target room response and the vehicle cabin response, and the late reverberation transfer function may be computed. Once the late reverberation transfer function is obtained, the combined cabin transfer function can be measured, and a scale factor for energy equalization derived. The total energy of the sound within the vehicle cabin may be normalized and the reverberation frequency spectrum may be equalized such that the late reverberation within the vehicle cabin is synthesized with the desired energy decay of the late reverberation of the sound in a room.

Abstract

Some embodiments provide a method for computing and displaying of minimum overlap for semiconductor layer interfaces, such as metal-via and metal-contact. The method leverages a machine-trained network (e.g., a trained neural network) to quickly, but accurately, infer the contours for the manufactured shapes across a range of process variations. The method also models the semiconductor process manufacturing layer-to-layer misalignment. The combined set of information (from the machine-trained network and from the modeling) is used by the method to compute the minimum overlap shapes at multiple layer interfaces. The method in some embodiments then uses the minimum overlap shapes to obtain an accurate calculation of the via or contact resistance.

Abstract

A method for performing pixel-based design rule checking (DRC) is described. This method is used to perform design rule checks for rectilinear and curvilinear designs. In some embodiments, the pixel-based approach is based on computational deep-learning. The pixel- based DRC method of some embodiments is more resilient to false positives than traditional geometric approaches, particularly for designs with curvilinear content, and the inference time remains constant, regardless of how many shapes exist in the design being checked, or how many polygon edges are needed to represent its curvature. The DRC method of some embodiments is implemented by highly parallel architectures (such as Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and Tensor Processing Units (TPU)) to improve processing throughput compared to traditional means.

Abstract

Some embodiments provide a method for calculating parasitic parameters for a pattern to be manufactured on an integrated circuit (IC) substrate. The method receives a definition of a wire structure as input. The method rasterizes the wire structure (e.g., produces pixel-based definition of the wire structure) to produce several images. Before rasterizing the wire structure, the method in some embodiments decomposes the wire structure into several components (e.g., several wires, wire segments or wire structure portions), which it then individually rasterizes. The method then uses the images as inputs to a neural network, which then calculates parasitic parameters associated with the wire structure. In some embodiments, the parasitic parameters include unwanted parasitic capacitance effects exerted on the wire structure. Conjunctively, or alternatively, these parameters include unwanted parasitic resistance and/or inductance effects on the wire structure.

Abstract

Spatial audio signals can include audio objects that can be respectively encoded and rendered at each of multiple different depths. In an example, a method for encoding a spatial audio signal can include receiving audio scene information from an audio capture source in an environment, and receiving a depth characteristic of a first object in the environment. The depth characteristic can be determined using information from a depth sensor. A correlation can be identified between at least a portion of the audio scene information and the first object. The spatial audio signal can be encoded using the portion of the audio scene and the depth characteristic of the first object.

Abstract

Embodiments presented herein are directed to “content linking multicast streaming” The embodiments connect a listener to over-the-air (OTA) broadcast radio content using an Internet Protocol (IP) multicast stream of the broadcast radio content when, for example, (i) a traditional broadcast radio receiver is not available, or (ii) an OTA broadcast radio signal that carries the content is not available. For example, when recovery of the OTA broadcast radio signal by a car radio is not possible because of poor reception or because the car radio is not configured with a suitable broadcast radio tuner, the embodiments generate a link to a multicast stream of the OTA broadcast radio content (also referred to as a “multicast broadcast radio stream” or simply a “multicast stream”), and provide the link to the car radio. The car radio can then access the multicast stream of the OTA broadcast radio content using the link.

Abstract

A loudspeaker system can include a first loudspeaker driver provided in a substantially fixed spatial relationship relative to a microphone. The loudspeaker driver can be tuned, for example automatically and without user input. In an example, the tuning can include receiving transfer function reference information about the first loudspeaker driver and the microphone, and receiving information about a desired acoustic response for the loudspeaker system. The tuning can include determining a simulated response for the loudspeaker system using a first input signal and the transfer function reference information, and can include providing the first input signal to the first loudspeaker driver. In response to the first input signal, an actual response for the loudspeaker driver can be received using the microphone. A compensation filter can be determined for the loudspeaker system based on the determined simulated response and the received actual response for the loudspeaker system.

Abstract

Spatial audio signals can include audio objects that can be respectively encoded and rendered at each of multiple different depths. In an example, a method for encoding a spatial audio signal can include receiving audio scene information from an audio capture source in an environment, and receiving a depth characteristic of a first object in the environment. The depth characteristic can be determined using information from a depth sensor. A correlation can be identified between at least a portion of the audio scene information and the first object. The spatial audio signal can be encoded using the portion of the audio scene and the depth characteristic of the first object.
