Abstract

The present technology relates to a method for preparing a mixture of solid potassium salts from a fermentation juice from a fermentation process for the production of chemical compounds in a pH-controlled fermentation medium by adding of a base comprising potassium hydroxide. The method comprises adding an acid to the fermentation juice in an amount sufficient to cause the precipitation of the mixture of potassium salts, and then separating the mixture of salts of potassium solid potassium acidified fermentation juice. The present technology also relates to the mixture of potassium salts obtained by said method and its use as fertilizer.

The invention relates to a method for extracting volatile fatty acids (VFA), so-called precursor organic molecules produced by microorganisms (M) in a reactor (2) for fermentation by anaerobic fermentation (3) from fermentable biomass (1), wherein said molecules are fermentation metabolites, which includes at least the following steps: a) choosing an extraction means (8) among extraction means that are, at least, insoluble in the fermentation medium and the implementation conditions of which preserve the ability of the microorganisms (M) in the fermentation medium to produce the molecules; b) placing the chosen extraction means (8) in contact (9) with the fermentation medium, without interrupting the fermentation (3); and c) recovering (12) the extracted molecules, at a pH of less than 4.5, by the extraction means (8) outside the fermentation reactor (2). The invention also relates to a apparatus for implementing the method.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing organic molecules from fermentable biomass, which includes a step of anaerobic fermentation (5) producing volatile fatty acids (6), said precursors being transformed into final organic molecules by non-fermentation means. The method also includes at least the following steps: a) extracting (9) at least one portion of the volatile fatty acids from the fermentation medium such that the production of fermentation metabolites by the microorganisms (M) is not affected and injecting a portion of the liquid phase (11) containing microorganisms from the extraction (9); b) synthesising (13) organic molecules from the fermentation metabolites or volatile fatty acids extracted in step a); and c) continuing steps a) to b) until obtaining a final amount and quality of organic molecules. Abstract

The method for preserving the initial fermentable potential of an organic substrate over time, said potential being represented by the methanogenic potential of the biomass, or BMP, of the organic substrate, comprises at least the following steps: - a) determining the moisture level (HM) of the organic substrate (2) collected (1), - b) comparing (8) the determined moisture level (HM) to a predefined moisture level (HD) of between 0% and 40%, - c) storing, in conditions limiting any activity of the microorganisms present in the substrate, and limiting any variation in the moisture level (HM), only the organic substrate (2) of which the moisture level (HM) determined in step a) corresponds to the predefined moisture level (HD), - d) if necessary, during steps a) and c), taking measurements of the methanogenic potential of the biomass, - e) comparing, if necessary, the measurements of the methanogenic potential of the biomass obtained during step c) to that of step a) and - f) adapting the storage conditions to keep the moisture level (HM) of the organic substrate (2) collected (1) at a value that is equal, within 5%, to that of the predefined moisture level (HD).
