Abstract

A method of misalignment correction in an imaging system is disclosed. The method includes providing a collimator and a detector having a digitized pixel grid, illuminating the collimator with a flood light source, and recording signal intensities in each pixel of the digitized pixel grid. The signal intensities are caused by the illuminating of the collimator. The method further includes deriving a descriptor from the recorded signal intensities, generating a series of offsets to be introduced to the digitized pixel grid, finding a selected offset from the series of offsets that optimizes the descriptor, and regenerating the digitized pixel grid based on an actual offset derived from the selected offset.

Abstract

A method includes obtaining an image having M sections and each section having N pixels. The method further includes deriving N sub-images from the image, wherein each sub-image has M sections and each section has N pixels. The i-th pixel of the j-th section of the i-th sub-image has a pixel value equal to a pixel value of the i-th pixel of the j-th section of the image and other pixels of the j-th section of the i-th sub-image are set to 0, where i traverses from 1 to N, and j traverses from 1 to M. The method further includes providing N projection patterns and calculating a projection for each sub-image by performing convolution of the respective sub-image with a corresponding one of the projection patterns, thereby obtaining N projected sub-images. The method further includes summing up the N projected sub-images, thereby obtaining a projection of the image.

Abstract

A method includes providing a target object and acquiring measured images of the target object. Each of the measured images is acquired by filtering radiation from the target object by a mask having multiple holes and detecting filtered radiation by a detector. The method further includes providing an estimated image of the target object and calculating an updating factor for each of the measured images. The calculating of the updating factor includes partitioning a mathematical representation of the mask into multiple first regions; for each of the first regions, deriving a separate forward projection from the estimated image of the target object and the respective first region; and comparing the respective measured image of the target object with the forward projections. The method further includes updating the estimated image of the target object based on the updating factors.

Abstract

The technical solution as put forth by the present invention comprises a computer imaging system and detectors arranged around the detected object for collecting gamma photons from positron annihilation events. The key is a multi-pinhole plate placed between the detected object and the detectors, and the multi-pinhole plate can be a coded aperture mask coded by using a function h(x,y). The gamma photons generated from the annihilation events inside the detected object are absorbed by the detector after being collimated by the multi-pinhole plate. Accordingly, after the detectors have performed detection at multiple angles, the result is transmitted to the computer imaging system, and quasi three-dimensional images are generated after being processed by the disclosed algorithm. Furthermore, the quasi three-dimensional images generate secondary projection images and, after adjustment, generate sinograms, and finally three-dimensional tomographic images are reconstructed from multiple sinograms.
