Abstract

Methods are provided that include positioning a disinfection apparatus in proximity to a cabinet, wherein the disinfection apparatus has a base supporting a germicidal source and the base includes components operationally coupled to the germicidal source for operating the germicidal source. The method further includes inserting the germicidal source into the cabinet such that at least a portion of the base is retained exterior to the cabinet and is operationally coupled to the germicidal source. Moreover, the method includes placing one or more items into the cabinet, closing the cabinet with the germicidal source and the one or more items in the cabinet and the base of the disinfection apparatus exterior to the cabinet, and then subsequently starting the disinfection source such that the germicidal source emits a germicide into the cabinet. Systems and cabinets used to conduct the aforementioned methods are also provided.

Abstract

Systems are disclosed which include processor-executable program instructions for receiving data regarding characteristics of a room and determining, based on the received data, operating parameter/s for one or more disinfection sources to disinfect the room. The data may include data regarding non-physical characteristics and/or physical characteristics of the room. In some embodiments, data regarding a quantity and/or type of at least a subset of the plurality of disinfection sources for disinfecting the room may also be considered for determining the operating parameter/s. In any case, the determined operating parameter/s may include a run time of a disinfection source, a position of a disinfection source within the room, a speed at which a disinfection source moves throughout the room, an orientation of a component comprising a disinfection source, a rate of germicidal discharge from a disinfection source and/or power supplied to a disinfection source.

Abstract

Germicidal lamp apparatuses are provided with lamps disposed between upper and lower bases of a support structure. In some embodiments, a longitudinal axis of a lamp is at an acute angle greater than 0° relative to a region of the lower base between the lamp and another lamp. In addition, the longitudinal axis of the other lamp is at either a right angle or an obtuse angle relative to said region. Other embodiments of apparatuses include a reflector system disposed between the upper and lower bases which is common to the lamps and which includes a reflector with slanted peripheral edge. Other germicidal lamp apparatuses are provided which include a reflector with multiple sections each contoured to manipulate directionality of light emitted from a subset of lamps. In such cases, the apparatuses are configured to move the reflector and/or collectively move the lamps during illumination of the lamps.

Abstract

Systems are disclosed which include processor-executable program instructions for receiving data regarding characteristics of a room in which one or more disinfection sources are arranged and determining, based on the received data, individual operating parameter/s for the one or more disinfection sources. Other systems are provided which include processor-executable program instructions for discerning, for each of a plurality of disinfection sources, a target location, region, object or surface within a room in which the disinfection sources are arranged. The systems further include program instructions for comparing the target locations/regions/objects/surfaces and executing corrective actions upon detecting two or more locations/objects/surfaces are within a predetermined distance of each other and/or upon detecting two or more regions overlap.

Abstract

Devices are provided which include a component assembly for detecting inward, outward and sideways door movement. A component of the assembly extending from a structure comprises a distal end for contacting a door face when the structure is arranged in proximity to the door face. Systems are provided which include a portable stand, a door movement sensor attached to the stand, a proximity sensor, and a user interface. The system is configured to transmit signals to the user interface when the proximity sensor has been placed a predetermined distance from a door face and when door movement occurs. Apparatuses are provided which include program instructions for receiving input regarding a number of entryways of a room and inhibiting commencement of a task for which an apparatus arranged in the room is configured to perform until a number of signals received from a door movement sensor equals the number of entryways.
